Hit refresh for the latest updates and swims.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100-meter Free<\/h3>\n<p>One day after winning the men&#8217;s 50-meter free,\u00a0<b>Caeleb Dressel<\/b>\u00a0won the men&#8217;s 100-meter free prelim this morning at USA Nationals. Dressel topped the field with a 48.98 in the early session and was the only swimmer under 49 seconds. After going out in a 23.48, Dressel finished with a 25.50 second 50.\u00a0<strong>Michael Chadwick<\/strong>\u00a0secured the second seed heading into tonight&#8217;s finals with a 49.26. Chadwick entered the meet as the top seed with a 48.87, but had a slight add this morning to give him a 49.26. He actually split a faster first 50 (23.31) than Dressel, but returned in a 25.95.<\/p>\n<p><strong>William Copeland<\/strong>\u00a0is positioned third after his 49.47, right ahead of\u00a0<strong>Cullen Jones<\/strong>&#8216;s 49.48.\u00a0<strong>Joe Bonk\u00a0<\/strong>(49.49) and\u00a0<strong>Jack Conger<\/strong>\u00a0(49.51) trailed right behind Copeland and Jones.\u00a0<strong>David Nolan<\/strong>\u00a0seized a spot in the final heat with his 49.63, while\u00a0<strong>BJ Hornikel<\/strong>\u00a0rounded out the top eight in 49.64.<\/p>\n<p>The B Final will feature\u00a0<strong>Roland Schoeman<\/strong>\u00a0(49.71),\u00a0<strong>Blake Pieroni<\/strong>\u00a0(49.73),\u00a0<strong>Townley Haas<\/strong>\u00a0(49.81),\u00a0<strong>Ryan Held<\/strong>\u00a0(49.81),\u00a0<strong>Matt Ellis\u00a0<\/strong>(49.88),\u00a0<strong>Maxime Rooney<\/strong>\u00a0(49.93),\u00a0<strong>Carl Weigley<\/strong>\u00a0(49.95), and\u00a0<strong>Trevor Carroll<\/strong>\u00a0(49.99).<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200-meter Fly<\/h3>\n<p>The 2015 100-meter fly national champion\u00a0<strong>Kelsi Worrell<\/strong>\u00a0seized the top spot in prelims in the women&#8217;s 200-meter fly at USA Nationals. Her 2:08.61 was a huge 3.81 second drop and is yet another great Nationals swim for the NCAA Champion from Louisville. Worrell was in close contention with\u00a0<strong>Hali\u00a0<\/strong><b>Flicking<\/b><strong>er\u00a0<\/strong>(2:08.80) and\u00a0<strong>Cassidy Bayer<\/strong>\u00a0(2:08.92) for the number one seed heading into tonight&#8217;s final.<\/p>\n<p>Splits:<\/p>\n<p>Worrell: 28.33\/32.57\/32.94\/34.27<\/p>\n<p>Flickinger: 29.40\/32.20\/33.52\/33.68<\/p>\n<p>Bayer: 28.95\/32.05\/33.61\/34.31<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hannah Kukurugya<\/strong>\u00a0finished outside the top three in 2:10.19.\u00a0<strong>Victoria Edwards<\/strong>\u00a0(2:11.32) and\u00a0<strong>Katherine Mills<\/strong>\u00a0(2:11.42) followed to take fifth and sixth, respectively.\u00a0<strong>Christina Bechtel<\/strong>\u00a0(2:11.65) edged\u00a0<strong>Alys Margaret Thomas<\/strong>\u00a0(2:11.75) to take seventh.<\/p>\n<p>The consolation final includes\u00a0<strong>Lauren Case<\/strong>\u00a0(2:11.88),\u00a0<strong>Hannah Saiz<\/strong>\u00a0(2:12.48),\u00a0<strong>Noelle Tarazona<\/strong>\u00a0(2:12.52),\u00a0<b>Kara Kopcso<\/b>\u00a0(2:12.65),\u00a0<strong>Emma Seiberlich<\/strong>\u00a0(2:12.86),\u00a0<strong>Jen Marrkand<\/strong>\u00a0(2:12.89),\u00a0<strong>Taylor Pike<\/strong>\u00a0(2:12.96),\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Taylor Katz\u00a0<\/strong>(2:13.26).<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Men&#8217;s 200-meter IM<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Will Licon<\/strong>\u00a0claimed the pole position in the 200-meter IM this morning with a solid 1:58.50, a 2.94 second drop from his entry time. Licon swam a well-constructed IM, splitting 25.99, 29.16, 34.48, and a 28.87.\u00a0<strong>Austin Surhoff<\/strong>\u00a0took the second-place spot with his 1:58.80.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Michael Phelps<\/strong>\u00a0registered a 1:59.63 to grab the third seed heading into tonight&#8217;s final. Phelps did enough to place himself in a competitive lane for finals despite adding 3.59 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Phelps: 25.45\/30.24\/34.35\/29.59<\/p>\n<p>Although Phelps is swimming in San Antonio, his times are being closely watched by the rest of the world. The past two evenings, he&#8217;s clocked world-best times in the 200 and 100-meter fly. At the FINA World Championships in Kazan,\u00a0<strong>Ryan Lochte<\/strong>\u00a0won gold with a world-best 1:55.81. Tonight&#8217;s final could wind up being another top time for Phelps.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gunnar Bentz<\/strong>, the 400-meter IM champion, captured the fourth seed with a 2:00.93.\u00a0<strong>Eduardo Solaeche-Gomez<\/strong>\u00a0claimed fifth in 2:01.14, followed by\u00a0<strong>Travis Mahoney<\/strong>&#8216;s 2:01.26.\u00a0<strong>Max Litchfield<\/strong>\u00a0(2:01.47) and\u00a0<strong>Ryan Harty<\/strong>\u00a0(2:01.78) nabbed the final two spots for tonight&#8217;s championship final.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Matthew Josa<\/strong>\u00a0(2:01.87),\u00a0<strong>Josh Martens<\/strong>\u00a0(2:01.94),\u00a0<strong>Mark Szaranek<\/strong>\u00a0(2:02.22),\u00a0<strong>Curtin Ogren<\/strong>\u00a0(2:02.45),\u00a0<strong>Sean Grieshop<\/strong>\u00a0(2:02.59),\u00a0<strong>Connor Green<\/strong>\u00a0(2:02.69),\u00a0<strong>Tom Kremer<\/strong>\u00a0(2:02.85), and\u00a0<strong>Adam Hinshaw<\/strong>\u00a0(2:02.91) will swim in tonight&#8217;s B Final.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200-meter Back<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Danielle Galyer\u00a0<\/strong>of the University of Kentucky won the women&#8217;s 200-meter back prelim at USA Nationals with a 2:10.48. Galyer dropped 1.77 seconds from her entry time of 2:12.25. Galyer had an outstanding morning swim splitting 1:03.69\/1:06.79 at the 100s.<\/p>\n<p>Galyer: 31.07\/32.62\/33.28\/33.51<\/p>\n<p><b>Claire Adams<\/b>, the 17-year old who won the 100-meter back national championship, posted a 2:10.98 to claim the second seed.\u00a0<strong>Lisa Bratton<\/strong>\u00a0registered a 2:11.40 to take third.\u00a0<strong>Megan Romano\u00a0<\/strong>swam a 2:11.55 to place just outside the top three.\u00a0<strong>Erin Earley<\/strong>\u00a0(2:11.89) and\u00a0<strong>Melanie Klaren<\/strong>\u00a0(2:11.94) followed to take fifth and sixth, respectively.\u00a0<strong>Clara Smiddy<\/strong>\u00a0wound up seventh in 2:12.09, while\u00a0<strong>Hali\u00a0<\/strong><b>Flickinger\u00a0<\/b>slid into the championship final with a 2:12.32.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bridgette Alexander<\/strong>\u00a0(2:12.41),\u00a0<strong>Gabby Deloof<\/strong>\u00a0(2:12.51),\u00a0<strong>Jullian Vitarius<\/strong>\u00a0(2:12.51),\u00a0<strong>Grace Ariola<\/strong>\u00a0(2:12.71),\u00a0<b>Bonnie Brandon\u00a0<\/b>(2:12.77),\u00a0<strong>Ally Howe<\/strong>\u00a0(2:12.90),\u00a0<strong>Emma Seiberlich<\/strong>\u00a0(2:12.92),\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Hellen Moffitt<\/strong>\u00a0all qualified for the B Final.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 800-meter Free<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Sarah Henry\u00a0<\/strong>now leads the women&#8217;s 800-meter free after her 8:35.64 performance in prelims at USA Nationals. She will be flanked at finals by\u00a0<strong>Sierra Schmidt<\/strong>, who finished a mere tenth of a second behind Henry with an 8:35.74. Both swimmers added a chunk of time in a controlled prelims swim, but remained tight throughout the 800 meters.<\/p>\n<p>Henry: 1:02.36\/1:04.60\/1:04.43\/1:05.03\/1:05.22\/1:05.58\/1:05.25\/1:03.17<\/p>\n<p>Schmidt: 1:01.28\/1:04.26\/1:04.69\/1:05.14\/1:05.70\/1:06.17\/1:05.50\/1:03.00<\/p>\n<p>Schmidt entered the meet as the top seed with an 8:27.54, and will have to battle her way past Henry and the rest of the field to reclaim her top spot.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stephanie Peacock\u00a0<\/strong>is positioned third with an 8:37.90, while\u00a0<strong>Gabrielle Kopenski<\/strong>\u00a0finished outside the top three with an 8:39.87.\u00a0<strong>Maddy Tenger<\/strong>\u00a0(8:40.04) and\u00a0<strong>Lindsay Vrooman\u00a0<\/strong>(8:40.12) finished a close fifth and sixth place.\u00a0<strong>Leah Stevens\u00a0<\/strong>(8:41.72) and\u00a0<strong>Courtney Harnish<\/strong>\u00a0(8:43.24) rounded out the top eight to qualify for the Monday&#8217;s championship final.<\/p>\n<p>Barring any earth-shattering swims outside the circle seeded heats, these will be the swimmers competing in the final.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 1500-meter Free<\/h3>\n<p>Northwestern University&#8217;s distance swimmer extraordinaire\u00a0<strong>Jordan Wilimovsky<\/strong>\u00a0maintained his place atop the men&#8217;s 1500-meter free with a 15:13.28 prelims swim at USA Nationals. Although he added nearly 17 seconds, Wilimovsky will enter finals with about a one-second cushion ahead of\u00a0<strong>Nicholas Sweetser<\/strong>\u00a0(15:14.14).<\/p>\n<p>Wilimovsky held 1:00s consistently until the 1000 mark where he fell to 1:01s.<\/p>\n<p>Wilimovsky: 57.72\/1:00.05\/1:00.44\/1:00.64\/1:00.77\/1:00.94\/1:01\/08\/1:00.90\/1:00.71\/1:01.67\/1:01.46\/1:01.63\/1:01.79\/1:01.93\/1:01.55<\/p>\n<p><strong>Zane Grothe<\/strong>\u00a0is slated third heading into finals after his 15:19.28 morning swim.\u00a0<strong>PJ Ransford\u00a0<\/strong>followed up Grothe with a 15:19.83, while\u00a0<strong>Logan\u00a0<\/strong><b>Houck\u00a0<\/b>took fifth in 15:21.34.<b>\u00a0Taylor Abbott\u00a0<\/b>gutted out a 15:21.91 to claim sixth, while\u00a0<strong>Jacob Ores<\/strong>\u00a0(15:22.80) and\u00a0<strong>Adam Linker<\/strong>\u00a0(15:27.01) closed out the top eight.<\/p>\n<p>Unless a swim outside of the circle seeded heats breaks through, these swimmers will be locked in for Monday night&#8217;s final.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/results\/2015-usa-swimming-long-course-summer-nationals-live-results\/usa-senior-national\/2015\/August\/6\">2015 USA Swimming Long Course Summer Nationals: Live Results &#8211; Results<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Everything you need to follow along with finals\u00a0live\u00a0during the 2015\u00a0USA\u00a0Swimming Summer Nationals.
