Conger swam a 51.97 in prelims to secure the top spot at finals, while Phelps clocked a 52.12 in the morning. Last night, Phelps and Conger took first and second in the 200-meter fly. The World Record-holder Phelps blazed a 1:52.94, which is the fastest time in the world this year. Conger took second and dropped over five seconds from his entry time.<\/p>\n<p>Tonight, the two go head-to-head in a heavily anticipated matchup. It&#8217;ll be just as interesting to see where the two will fall in the world rankings. At the FINA World Championships in Kazan, <b>Chad le Clos<\/b> won the 100-meter fly in 50.56.\u00a0<strong>Laszlo Cseh\u00a0<\/strong>was a close second with a 50.87. American\u00a0<strong>Tom Shields<\/strong> wound up fourth in 51.06.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Caaleb Dressel<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Cullen Jones<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Josh Schneider<\/strong> headline the showdown in the men&#8217;s 50-meter free. Dressel topped the prelims session in 21.85, while Schneider (22.10) and Jones (22.11) took second and third just 0.01 seconds apart from one another.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Caitlin Leverenz<\/strong> looks to hold onto her top spot in the women&#8217;s 400-meter IM. She&#8217;s seeded with a 4:41.76 after a controlled swim in prelims.
