But, with the next world championships coming one year after the 2016 Olympics, Cochrane said he hasn\u2019t completely closed the door on staying with the sport one year longer than originally planned.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI could see myself swimming another year to Budapest (the site of the 2017 world championships),\u201d he said, noting that the pressure of competing at the Pan American Games last month in his home country put an emotional toll on him and his Canadian teammates.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think we can expect better things with a more normal year, hopefully next year,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ryan Cochrane didn\u2019t want to be left out of the 1500 freestyle final in the same fashion that he was shut out of the 800 free.
