Hit refresh for the latest coverage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WOMEN&#8217;S 50 FREE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Cate Campbell<\/strong> topped a loaded 50-meter free field in prelims finishing with a time of 24.40 to claim the top seed for tonight&#8217;s semis. Campbell will have to work to get closer to her 2015 best of 24.03 from BHP Super Series and to keep the competition at bay.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Arianna Vanderpool-Wallace<\/strong> of the Bahamas claimed the second place seed with a close 24.43, putting her only .12 seconds off her 2015 best of 24.31 from the Pan Am Games in Toronto.<\/p>\n<p>Sweden&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sarah Sjostrom<\/strong> turned in a 24.53 to claim a spot in the middle of the pool for semis. The Netherland&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ranomi Kromowidjojo\u00a0<\/strong>posted a time of 24.62 to grab the fourth-place seed.<\/p>\n<p>The fifth place seed was grabbed by\u00a0<strong>Jeanette Ottesen<\/strong> of Denmark. Ottesen turned in a 24.66, just shy of her 2015 best of 24.47 from the Canet stop of the Mare Nostrum circuit.<\/p>\n<p>Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Dorothea Brandt<\/strong>\u00a0finished with a 24.71 for the sixth-place seed, while Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Bronte Campbell<\/strong> touched with a 24.74 for the seventh-place seed. A slight slip for Campbell from her 2015 best of 24.19 from the Australian Championships.<\/p>\n<p>Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Fran Halsall<\/strong> completes the top eight qualifiers for tonight&#8217;s semis with a time of 24.80.<\/p>\n<p>China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Xiang Liu<\/strong> (24.82), France&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Anna Santamans<\/strong> (24.90), USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Simone Manuel<\/strong> (24.91), Canada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Chantal Van Landeghem<\/strong> (24.94), Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Etiene Medeiros<\/strong> (24.97), Canada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Michelle Williams<\/strong> (25.13), Denmark&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Pernille Blume<\/strong> (25.14) and Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mariia Kameneva\u00a0<\/strong>(25.18) will also be swimming in semi-finals of the 50 free.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MEN&#8217;S 50 BACK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>France&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Camille Lacourt<\/strong> posted the top time in prelims for the men&#8217;s 50-meter back with a finishing time of 24.56. This time matches his 2015 best 0f 24.56 which he posted at the French Championships earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Matt Grevers<\/strong> grabbed the second-place seed with a time of 24.68 moving him up to third in the world rankings for 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Australian teammates\u00a0<strong>Ben Treffers\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Mitchell Larkin<\/strong> snagged the third- and fourth-place seeds from separate heats. Trekkers turned in a 24.74 in heat six, while Larkin posted a 24.77 in heat five.<\/p>\n<p><strong>David Plummer<\/strong> of the USA clocked a 24.79 in heat six finishing in front of Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Liam Tancock&#8217;s<\/strong> 24.91 from the same heat.<\/p>\n<p><b>Jeremy Stravius <\/b>(24.95)\u00a0of France and\u00a0<strong>Pavel Sankovich\u00a0<\/strong>(24.97)\u00a0claimed seventh and eighth respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Carl Schwarz<\/strong> (25.12), Israel&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jonatan Kopelev<\/strong> (25.14), Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Simone Sabbioni\u00a0<\/strong>(25.21), POland&#8217;s <b>Tomasz Polewka<\/b> (25.25), Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Grigory Tarasevich<\/strong> (25.27), Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Vladimir Morozov<\/strong> (25.27) and Norway&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lavrans Solli<\/strong> (25.28) will join the top eight in semi-finals later in the day.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Miguel Ortiz-Canavate<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Guilherme Guido<\/strong> will swim off for the sixteenth spot.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WOMEN&#8217;S 50 BREAST<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ruta Meilutyte<\/strong> of Lithuania claimed the top seed in the women&#8217;s 50-meter breaststroke with a stunning time of 29.74 effectively lowering her 2015 best of 29.88 from the Canet stop of the Mare Nostrum circuit. Meilutyte&#8217;s time secures her spot as the current top leader in the world, as she also holds the world record at a 29.48.<\/p>\n<p>Jamaica&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Alia Atkinson<\/strong>\u00a0took the second-place seed with a 30.27, lowering her time of 30.54 from the Charlotte stop of the Arena Pro Swim Series.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jennie Johansson<\/strong> of Sweden moved up in the rankings with a time of 30.30. This lowers her 2015 best of 30.64 by .34 seconds.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jessica Hardy<\/strong> of the USA turned in a 30.44 for the fourth-place seed, improving upon her time of 30.61 from the Charlotte stop of the Arena Pro Swim Series.<\/p>\n<p>Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Yuliya Efimova<\/strong>\u00a0finished second in her heat to claim the fifth-place seed with a 30.45. This is just shy of her 2015 best of 30.37 from the Santa Clara stop of the Arena Pro Swim Series. Close behind was Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mariia Liver<\/strong> who followed Efimova to the wall with a time of 30.60.<\/p>\n<p>Belgium&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Fanny Lecluyse<\/strong> turned in a 30.75 for the seventh-place seed, while Finland&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jenna Laukkanen<\/strong> clocked a 30.79 to complete the top heat for semi-finals.<\/p>\n<p>The Netherland&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Moniek Nijhuis<\/strong> (30.81), Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Martina Carraro<\/strong> (30.83), Canada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Rachel Nicol<\/strong> (30.86), Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Arianna Castiglioni\u00a0<\/strong>(30.90), Israel&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Hrafnhildur Luthersdottir<\/strong> (30.90), China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ran Suo<\/strong> (31.12), Czech Republic&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Petra Chocova<\/strong> (31.21) and Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lorna Tonks\u00a0<\/strong>(31.22) complete the top sixteen for tonight&#8217;s semi-finals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MIXED 4X100 FREE RELAY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The USA mixed relay team of\u00a0<strong>Conor Dwyer<\/strong> (49.47),\u00a0<strong>Ryan Lochte<\/strong> (48.43),\u00a0<strong>Margo Geer<\/strong> (53.12) and\u00a0<strong>Abbey Weitzeil<\/strong> (53.49) clocked a quick 3:24.51 to claim the first-place seed in the mixed 400-meter freestyle relay. The relay team was just shy of the world record of 3:23.29 set by Australia in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Russia claimed the second-place seed with\u00a0<strong>Andrey Grechin<\/strong> (49.21),\u00a0<strong>Nikita Lobintsev<\/strong> (47.97)\u00a0<strong>Veronica Popova<\/strong> (54.00) and\u00a0<strong>Natalia Lovtcova<\/strong> (54.05) posting a combined 3:25.23.<\/p>\n<p>The relay team of\u00a0<strong>Luca Dotto<\/strong> (49.30),\u00a0<strong>Fillippo Magnini<\/strong> (48.60),\u00a0<strong>Federica Pellegrini<\/strong> (54.35) and\u00a0<strong>Erika Ferraioli<\/strong> (53.98) from Italy turned in a time of 3:26.23 for the third-place seed.<\/p>\n<p>Sweden&#8217;s <strong>Christoffer Carlsen<\/strong> (49.78),\u00a0<strong>Simon Sjodin<\/strong> (49.70),\u00a0<strong>Michelle Coleman<\/strong> (53.35) and\u00a0<strong>Louise Hansson<\/strong> (53.77)\u00a0finished with a time of 3:26.60 for the fourth-place seed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sebastiaan Verschuren\u00a0<\/strong>(49.49),\u00a0<strong>Kyle Stolk<\/strong> (49.44),\u00a0<strong>Marrit Steenbergen<\/strong> (55.29) and\u00a0<strong>Femke Heemskerk<\/strong> (52.69) of the Netherlands clocked a time of 3:26.91 for the fifth-place seed.<\/p>\n<p>China (3:27.71) finished sixth in prelims while Canada and Brazil are tied for seventh with a time of 3:27.75.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MEN&#8217;S 1500 FREE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Gregorio Paltrinieri\u00a0<\/strong>claimed the top seed for finals in the men&#8217;s 1500-meter free posting a time of 14:51.04 to separate himself from the competition. Paltrinieri currently holds the top time for 2015 with a 14:43.87 from the Italian Championships earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Connor Jaeger<\/strong> turned in a 14:53.34 for the second-place seed in heat five. Jaeger succeeded in lowering his 2015 best of 14:56.43 from the Santa Clara stop of the Arena Pro Swim Series.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yang Sun<\/strong> of China, the current world record holder, clocked a time of 14:55.11 to secure the third-place seed. Despite not being close to his world record of 14:31.02, Sun did succeed in lowering his 2015 best of 15:00.73 from the Chinese Championships.<\/p>\n<p>Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Stephen Milne\u00a0<\/strong>posted a 14:55.17 for the fourth-place seed.
