Hosszu turned in a 2:07.17 for first, just shy of her 2015 world best of 2:06.81.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Missy Franklin<\/strong> of the United States grabbed the second-place seed for semi-finals with a time of 2:07.84. Franklin improved upon her world best of 2:09.84 which she posted at the Santa Clara stop of the Arena Pro Swim Series. Her new time boosts her up from eighteenth in the world rankings to fourth.<\/p>\n<p>Canada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Dominique Bouchard<\/strong> turned in a sizzling 2:08.66 to improve upon her world best time of 2:08.99 which she posted at the Orlando stop of the Arena Pro Swim Series.<\/p>\n<p>Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Daria Ustinova<\/strong> tied for the fourth-place seed with\u00a0<strong>Eyglo Gustafsdottir<\/strong> posting 2:09.16 from heat three. Ustinova is shy of her world best of 2:07.29, but Gustafsdottir moves up twelfth.<\/p>\n<p>Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jenny Mensing<\/strong> finished sixth in prelims with a time of 2:09.43, just barely getting ahead of Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Emily Seebohm<\/strong> who turned in a 2:09.43. While she made it into the top eight, Seebohm is going to have to kick it in gear if she is going to defend her first-place world ranking of 2:06.69.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Elizabeth Beisel<\/strong> of the United States rounds out the top eight with a time of 2:09.54 not too far behind Seebohm and Mensing.<\/p>\n<p>Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lisa Graf<\/strong> (2:09.68), Poland&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Alicja Tchorz<\/strong> (2:10.04),\u00a0<strong>Kristy Coventry<\/strong> (2:10.38), Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Margherita Panziera<\/strong> (2:10.39), Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Elizabeth Simmonds<\/strong> (2:10.48), Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Irina Prikhodko<\/strong> (2:10.81), Canada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Hilary Caldwell<\/strong> (2:10.92) and\u00a0<strong>Duane Da Rocha<\/strong> (2:11.53) add to the top eight for semi-finals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SCHEDULED EVENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Men&#8217;s 50 Free<\/p>\n<p>Women&#8217;s 50 Fly<\/p>\n<p>Men&#8217;s 100 Fly<\/p>\n<p>Women&#8217;s 200 Back<\/p>\n<p>Men&#8217;s 4&#215;200 Free Relay<\/p>\n<p>Women&#8217;s 800 Free<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hungary&#8217;s\u00a0Katinka Hosszu\u00a0continued what has proved to be a successful meet for her with a first-place seed in the women&#8217;s 200-meter back.
