Andrew Wilson<\/b> caused jaws to drop wide open in prelims on Thursday when he clocked 59.68 in the 100 breast for the top overall seed. Not satisfied with that, he dropped three one-hundredths of a second further in the final, winning the event in 59.65. The only swimmer to break 1:00 on the day, Wilson’s time would have placed him in the top eight at the World Championships earlier this week.<\/p>\n
In his post-race interview with Swimming World<\/i>, Wilson explained why he left Emory University for the summer to train with Longhorn Aquatics and his plans for training going forward. He also talked about his hopes and expectations for the 200 breast later in the week and for next summer’s Olympic Trials.<\/p>\n
