SEAL BEACH, California, June 2. THE first National Club Swimming Association's (NCSA) All-American Meet will take place in Hawaii later this week. SwimmingWorld.TV met with Bob Gillett, founder of the association, to talk about the importance of this meet as it relates to Junior Nationals, Senior Nationals and the overall development of club swimmers in the United States.<\/p>\n

Coach Gillett talks about some of the reasons that the NCSA got started, the vision that he and other club coaches share and their supporting role in the efforts of United States Swimming to produce elite athletes.<\/p>\n

It is important to note that the NCSA hosts Short Course Junior Nationals each year in the spring and that United States Swimming will be holding their second long course Junior Nationals in August after years of not supporting this event. Both competitions were once hosted by USA Swimming. This week, the NSCA will be hosting its first National All-American Swim Meet and USA Swimming will surely be watching to see how this concept and meet format evolves. <\/p>\n
