{"id":148399,"date":"2015-08-05T11:55:13","date_gmt":"2015-08-05T18:55:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=148399"},"modified":"2015-08-05T11:55:13","modified_gmt":"2015-08-05T18:55:13","slug":"bruce-gemmell-puts-worlds-200-free-final-into-perspective-sw-radio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/bruce-gemmell-puts-worlds-200-free-final-into-perspective-sw-radio\/","title":{"rendered":"Bruce Gemmell Puts Worlds 200 Free Final Into Perspective (SW Radio)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When asked to put the women\u2019s 200 free final at the FINA world championships into perspective, <strong>Bruce Gemmell<\/strong> agreed that it was very similar to the \u201cRace of the Century\u201d at the 2004 Olympics featuring the likes of <strong>Michael Phelps, Ian Thorpe<\/strong> and <strong>Pieter Van Den Hoogenband<\/strong> in the 200 free.<\/p>\n<p>Gemmell, who coaches Ledecky daily, said a lineup that includes world champions <strong>Missy Franklin<\/strong> and <strong>Federica Pellegrini<\/strong> is instantly one of the toughest fields of eight in history. And whatever we can get out of the (200 and the 800), we are going to get.  If her 400 gets really, really good, then the 200 and 800 should be really, really good.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When asked to put the women\u2019s 200 free final at
