INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana, May 25. TWO-time World University Games medalist and 2004 Olympian Cassandra Cardinell headlines the list of 15 divers who will represent Team USA at the World University Games in Bangkok, Thailand, from August 8-18.<\/p>\n
Cardinell (Loudonville, N.Y.), who recently completed her masters at Indiana University, will compete on 10-meter and synchronized 10-meter at the World University Games. She won silver on 10-meter at the 2005 World University Games in Turkey and took bronze in 3-meter synchro with Sara Hildebrand in 2003 Games in Korea.<\/p>\n
The 2007 U.S. roster includes two other World University Games veterans – Georgia's Chris Colwill (Brandon, Fla.) and Indiana's Christina Loukas (Riverwoods, Ill.). Colwill, who will compete on 1-meter and 3-meter, was eighth on 3-meter and fifth on 1-meter at the 2005 WUGs. He recently won a pair of individual bronze medals in international competition, having taken third on 3-meter at both the Canada Cup and AT&T USA Diving Grand Prix this month. Loukas placed fourth with Cardinell in synchronized 10-meter at the 2005 Games and is the only diver selected to compete on more than two events in 2007. She'll dive 1-meter, 3-meter and synchronized 3-meter in Bangkok.<\/p>\n
Team USA also includes 2006 NCAA champions Jessica Livingston (The Woodlands, Texas\/University of Texas) and Terry Horner (Longwood, Fla.\/Florida State). Livingston will compete on 10-meter, the event she won at the NCAA meet. Horner won the NCAA title on 1-meter and will compete on that event as well as 3-meter at the World University Games.<\/p>\n
Rounding out the team are Heather Bounds, Drew Brown, Sarah Chrzanowski, Dan Frebel, JJ Kinzbach, Dan Mazzaferro, Amanda Miller, Sean Moore, Jesse Rappaport, and Mary Yarrison.<\/p>\n
