The fourth and final day of the first annual Futures Championships held in Greensboro, North Carolina concluded this evening at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.<\/p>\n
Connor Kalisz<\/strong> of North Baltimore Aquatic Club sailed smoothly to victory and an Olympic Trials cut with a time of 2:03.76, three hundredths under the Trials time standard of 2:03.79. Kieran Smith<\/strong> touched the wall second with a time of 2:07.01, while Christian Ginieczki<\/strong>\u00a0was right behind, finishing with a time of 2:07.56.<\/p>\n The first event of the session\u00a0was the women\u2019s 100 meter freestyle, and it was Claire O\u2019Mara<\/strong> from Berkeley Aquatic Club\u00a0who won first place with a time of 56.97. Second place went to Hannah Baker<\/strong> with a time of 57.32, while Sydney Lee<\/strong> took third place.<\/p>\n In the men\u2019s 100 meter freestyle, Brian Lovasik<\/strong> of North Hills Aquatics\u00a0grabbed gold with a time of 51.19. Behind him was Brent Benedict<\/strong> with a time of 51.84 for second place, and Lucas Reisch<\/strong> with a time of 52.29 to move into third.<\/p>\n The women\u2019s 200 meter backstroke was up next, with Chloe Hicks<\/strong> from Machine Aquatics\u00a0with the sizable win, touching the wall at 2:16.71. Swimming into second was Morgan Liberto<\/strong> with a time of 2:18.48, while Alyssa Helak<\/strong> finished third with her finishing time of 2:18.76.<\/p>\n Fifteen-year-old Miku Takabayashi<\/strong> from Blue Devil Aquatics\u00a0took home the win in the 200 meter individual medley with a time of 2:19.79, with the competition over two seconds behind. Laura Schwartz<\/strong> moved into second place from her eighth place prelims finish with a time of 2:21.74, while Alexa Buckley<\/strong> placed third with a time of 2:22.38.<\/p>\n On the men\u2019s side, an unaffiliated Michael Craddock<\/strong> from the state of Virginia finished first with a time of 2:05.46, three seconds faster than his entry time. Silver went to Christopher Wang<\/strong> with a time of 2:07.50, only nine hundredths ahead of third place Hassler Carroll<\/strong> and his finishing time of 2:07.59.<\/p>\n The women\u2019s 400 meter medley relay was won handily by the Asphalt Green Unified Aquatics<\/strong> team of Krystal Lara<\/strong> (1:03.43), Carly Fried<\/strong> (1:13.15), Nicole Aarts<\/strong> (1:03.75), and Molly Brickman<\/strong> (59.05) with a time of 4:19.38. Second went to Machine Aquatics<\/strong>, dropping over seven seconds from their seed time to finish with a time of 4:21.47, while the Marlins of Raleigh<\/strong> took third with a time of 4:22.44.<\/p>\n However, on the men\u2019s side, the Marlins of Raleigh<\/strong> touched out the competition, finishing first with a time of 3:55.04. The team was made up of William Countie<\/strong> (57.87), Connor Blandford<\/strong> (1:07.22), John Cobb<\/strong> (56.72), and Tyler Silver<\/strong> (53.23).
