LINDSAY Rogers, who swims for coach Andy Pedersen at Hamilton Southeastern High and the Southeastern Swim Club in Fishers, Ind., is the next subject of SwimmingWorldMagazine.com&#39;s Promising Seniors-To-Be series.<\/p>\n<p>As of the May 15 National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association (NISCA) <a href=http:\/\/www.inswim.net\/allamer07g.html target=_blank>release<\/a> of All-American candidates, Rogers is the third-fastest swimmer in the 100 breast (1:01.93).  She also posted the following times for consideration: 50 free (24.04), 100 free (51.64), 100 fly (57.39) and 200 IM (2:02.70).<\/p>\n<p>Here is our interview with Rogers:<\/p>\n<p><b>Was there a watershed mark in your career that made it clear you had a gift for the sport and could achieve big things?<\/b><br \/>\n<i>The first time I won an Age Group State championship.  At the time, I was only 12 years old, but I was also a busy 12 year old. I wasn&#39;t just swimming, because I was also playing basketball and softball as well as dancing.  So, when I was up on the podium, it just felt right and I knew that this is something that I love and something I could succeed in.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>What type of interaction do you have with your coach when it comes to training? What kind of input do you have?<\/b><br \/>\n<i>My coach and I always try to find out new and different strategies in training.  I will always tell him what I want to work on whether it&#39;s my underwater work or technique. We will compromise on what kind of set we would do.  We get along very well. When I am training, I will ask him for help or if I am doing something right.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>What are your goals for your senior season?<\/b><br \/>\n<i>This year will be the busiest of them all, being a senior and all.  Just like every senior, I want to find the best college for me &#8211; somewhere that I am comfortable with, that would help me to be successful in the pool and in the classroom.  One of the other goals that I have had in the back of my mind is to make it out of semifinals at the 2008 Olympic Trials. <\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>Who has made the biggest impact on your swimming career to this point?<\/b><br \/>\n<i>I would have to say my family.  They have always supported my decisions, and have never missed a meet.  They are always there to support me in whatever I do.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b> Have you verbally committed to any University?  If so, which one and why?  If not, who is in your top five and why?<\/b><br \/>\n<i>It&#39;s up in the air right now considering I&#39;m just a junior, but there is a top five list.<br \/>\nUniversity of Texas<br \/>\nAuburn University<br \/>\nTexas A&#038;M University<br \/>\nUniversity of Georgia<br \/>\nUniversity of Florida<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>What has the recruiting process been like for you?<\/b><br \/>\n<i>Well, it&#39;s been great. The coaches at the colleges that I am really considering have sent me all the information that I need.
