The third day of the Mt. Hood Futures Championship saw many impressive time drops, including a big swim in the women’s 200-meter breastroke. Blaise Wittenauer-Lee<\/strong> dropped an impressive four seconds from her entry time to win the event in a time of 2:35.17. She was followed by Halladay Kinsey<\/strong> who posted a time of 2:36.13 to grab the silver, while Piper Brockley<\/strong> was third in a time of 2:38.29.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the evening, in the women’s 200-meter fly Amanda Barnes<\/strong> won the race with a swift time of 2:16.39. She was followed closely by Sarah Nowaski<\/strong> who was 2:16.43. Elise Locke<\/strong> finished in\u00a0third in a time of 1:16.78.<\/p>\n

The men’s 200-meter fly was a close race between Keltan Lawler<\/strong> and Michael White<\/strong>. Lawler held out for the finish, posting a time of 2:02.17. White was\u00a0second with a 2:02.75, while Jack Herron<\/strong> was third in 2:03.16.<\/p>\n

The women’s splash and dash event of the 50-meter free went to Brooke Stenstrom<\/strong> who posted a swift time of 26.22. Lauren Moden<\/strong> followed closely behind with a finish of 26.32, while Leah Hatayama<\/strong> was third in 26.35.<\/p>\n

The men’s 50-meter free was won by Simon Pheasant<\/strong> who came into the wall\u00a0in a time of 23.17. He was followed by Jason Chen<\/strong> who finished in 23.44. Dillon Williams<\/strong> rounded out the top three with a time of 23.51.<\/p>\n

The men’s 200-meter breastroke was won by Eric Tolman<\/strong> whose 2:18.45 was just off of an Olympic Trials qualifying time. Tolman was followed by Gabriel Rooker<\/strong> who finished in 2:19.08, while Tanner Olson<\/strong> was third in 2:19.95.<\/p>\n

In the women’s 100-meter back, twenty-five year old Anna Heller<\/strong> dominated the race with a time of 1:03.81 securing her the win. She was followed by Elsa Litteken<\/strong> who was second in a time of 1:04.17, while Laura Laderoute<\/strong> was third in 1:04.81.<\/p>\n

The men’s 100-meter back saw a battle between Brandon Presswood<\/strong> and Bradley Cline<\/strong>, with Presswood pulling out the win with a time of 57.34. He was followed closely by Cline who settled for second with his time of 57.73. Colin Lynch<\/strong> was third in 58.00.<\/p>\n

The women’s 400-meter freestyle saw the first Olympic Trials qualifying time of the night with Haley Yelle<\/strong> posting a 4:17.82 to dominate the event. She was followed by Sydney Franzen<\/strong> who was 4:19.29, while Yuging Xie<\/strong> was third in 4:21.01.<\/p>\n

Eric Fierro<\/strong> followed the women’s example, and also posted an Olympic Trials Qualifying time in the finals of the men’s 400-meter freestyle. Fierro posted a 3:58.45 which was the only time under 4:00. He was followed by Cody Loria<\/strong> who was second in a time of 4:00.58, while Shane Forker<\/strong> was third in a time of 4:01.98.<\/p>\n

The Futures Championship will conclude tomorrow evening.<\/p>\n
