That made her just the fourth woman to ever win the event more than once in a career. <strong>Edith van Dijk<\/strong> of The Netherlands holds the record with four wins, while Germany&#8217;s <strong>Angela Maurer<\/strong> and <strong>Britta Kamrau-Corestein<\/strong> both also have two wins.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s also Cunha&#8217;s seventh overall medal in open water swimming at a World Championships, beating Poliana Okimoto (six) for the most by a South American swimmer by either gender.<\/p>\n<p>Hungary&#8217;s <strong>Anna Olasz<\/strong> raced her way to silver in 5:14:13.4. \u00a0With the medal, she&#8217;s just the third swimmer from Hungary to earn an individual open water medal. \u00a0Rita Kovacs took silver in the women&#8217;s 25K in 1994, while Csaba Gercsak claimed bronze in the men&#8217;s 25K in 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Veteran Maurer added to her long legacy with a bronze-medal time of 5:15:07.6.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s her record ninth medal in the women&#8217;s 25K overall, beating van Dijk&#8217;s previous mark of eight.
