Hood Futures Championship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Close races ruled the night on the second day of the Futures Championship in Gresham Oregon. One of the most exciting races of the night culminated in a tie in the women&#8217;s 100 breastroke. <strong>Donna Depolo<\/strong> and <strong>Piper Brockley<\/strong> battled for the win through the entire race, eventually tying for first. Both women threw down a swift 1:12.39. They were followed closely behind by <strong>Blaise Wittenauer-Lee<\/strong> who won the bronze with a time of 1:12.69.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in the evening, the women&#8217;s 200-meter freestyle also saw a close finish, featuring a battle between <strong>Halladay Kinsey<\/strong> and <strong>Cali Raukar<\/strong>. Kinsey pulled out a win to post a 2:03.83 to Raukar&#8217;s 2:03.98. <strong>McKenna Meyer<\/strong> followed for bronze with a time of 2:04.86.<\/p>\n<p>The men&#8217;s 200 free also featured a razor-close finish with a battle shaping up between <strong>Marc Morizono<\/strong> and <strong>Liam O&#8217;Haimhirgin<\/strong>. Morizono secured the win with a swift 1:52.20 to outtouch O&#8217;Haimhirgin&#8217;s 1:52.31. <strong>Bradley Cline<\/strong> followed closely behind, posting a 1:52.73.<\/p>\n<p>The men&#8217;s 100-meter breast was dominated by <strong>Gabriel Rooker<\/strong>, whose swift 1:03.39 was enough for the win, as well as securing him a qualifying time for Olympic Trials. Rooker was followed by <strong>Zachary Stevens<\/strong>, who posted a time of 1:04.46. <strong>Eric Tolman<\/strong> followed closely with a time of 1:04.83.<\/p>\n<p>The women&#8217;s 100-meter butterfly went to <strong>Anna Brolin<\/strong>, who posted a time of 1:02.08. She was followed by <strong>Lauren Green<\/strong>, who was close behind with a finish of 1:02.41. <strong>Makenna Turner<\/strong> was third by one-hundreth of a second, posting a 1:02.42.<\/p>\n<p>The men&#8217;s 100-meter butterfly featured an exciting finish with <strong>Liam McCloskey<\/strong> pulling out an exciting win in a time of 54.63, qualifying himself for Olympic Trials. He was followed by <strong>Yoessef Tibazi<\/strong> whose 54.73 was also an Olympic Trials qualifying time. <strong>Micah Ornelas<\/strong> was third in 55.25.<\/p>\n<p>In the final race of the night, the women&#8217;s\u00a0400-meter IM also saw a close finish, with the race shaping up to be a battle between <strong>Jessica Epps<\/strong> and <strong>Jordan Anderson<\/strong>. Epps eventually won, finishing\u00a0in 4:54.59. This time was just under the qualifying time for Olympic Trials. She was followed by Anderson who was 4:55.02. <strong>Cassidy Stein<\/strong> was third in 4:56.29.<\/p>\n<p>On the men&#8217;s side, <strong>Michael White<\/strong> won the 400-meter IM with a time of 4:28.46. He was followed by <strong>Keltan Lawler<\/strong> who hit the wall in 4:30.32. <strong>Braden Vines<\/strong> was third with a finish of 4:32.23.<\/p>\n<p>The Futures Championship will continue tomorrow, with the meet concluding this Sunday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Close races ruled the night on the second day of the Futures Championship in Gresham Oregon.
