Hood Futures Championship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The opening day of the first annual Futures Championship at the Mount Hood Community College in Gresham, Oregon was highlighted by a fast swim by <strong>Shane Forker\u00a0<\/strong>in the men&#8217;s 1500-meter freestyle. Forker dominated the race with a time of 15:44.65, clinching an Olympic Trials qualifying time. This time was also the fastest result for the men&#8217;s 1500 of any of the three futures meets that all began\u00a0today.<\/p>\n<p>Following Forker was <strong>Eric Fierro<\/strong>, who earned second place with a time of 15:56.59. Christopher Miller was\u00a0third with a\u00a0finish of 16:05.54.<\/p>\n<p>On the women&#8217;s side, in the 800-meter freestyle, <strong>Haley Yelle<\/strong> won the race in a time of 8:51.61. She was followed by 13 year old <strong>Yuging Xie<\/strong> who swam an impressive 8:54.18. In third was <strong>Sydney Franzen<\/strong> who was 8:56.46.<\/p>\n<p>In the women&#8217;s 800-meter freestyle relay, the David Arden Racing Team dominated with the team of <strong>Claire Pinson<\/strong> (2:05.63) <strong>Halladay Kinsey<\/strong> (2:04.26) <strong>Kassidy Henson<\/strong> (2:06.72) and <strong>Joanna Curry<\/strong> (2:06.72) putting together a swift swim of 8:23.33. They were followed by North Bay Aquatics, whose group of <strong>Mikeala Dahlke<\/strong> (2:05.07) <strong>Claire Birchenough<\/strong> (2:08.10) <strong>Ava Salmi<\/strong> (2:09.92) and <strong>Emma McCarthy<\/strong> (2:02.85) came together for a final time of 8:25.94. In third, the Mission Viejo Nadadores&#8217;s team of <strong>Jessica Epps<\/strong> (2:04.98) <strong>Savannah DuPuis<\/strong> (2:08.97) <strong>Yuging Xie<\/strong> (2:08.05) and <strong>Sydney Franzen<\/strong> (2:05.88) were 8:27.88.<\/p>\n<p>The men&#8217;s 800-meter freestyle went to the North Bay Aquatics team of <strong>Sheldon Boboff<\/strong> (1:52.67) <strong>Bradley Cline<\/strong> (1:51.77) <strong>Theo Andrews<\/strong> (1:55.17) and <strong>Nicholas Bigot<\/strong> (1:54.80) with a dominating time of 7:34.41. They led the field by nine seconds, and were followed by the David Arden Racing Team&#8217;s group of <strong>Eric Fierro<\/strong> (1:53.05) <strong>Terry Johnson<\/strong> (1:54.95) <strong>Soren Dickens<\/strong> (2:00.08) and <strong>Riley Hickman<\/strong> (1:55.31) who came together for a time of 7:43.42.
