ORIGINALLY asked to provide medical reports by April that would provide reasons for why he had abnormal testosterone and luteinizing hormone levels in a 2006 drug test, Ian Thorpe, according to the Sydney Morning Herald<\/i>, has been given an extension to produce medical documentation.<\/p>\n
During the World Championships in Melbourne, news that Thorpe had abnormal test levels surfaced and touched off a frenzied few days. Thorpe, however, could have had those high levels due to medication he was taking. Consequently, his medical team has been gathering paperwork to submit to the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Agency that will answer why the levels were high.<\/p>\n
A five-time Olympic gold medalist and the world-record holder in the 400 freestyle, Thorpe has indicated that his testosterone levels from the test were typical in relation to his personal history.
