{"id":145101,"date":"2015-07-18T20:45:44","date_gmt":"2015-07-19T03:45:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=145101"},"modified":"2015-07-18T22:41:22","modified_gmt":"2015-07-19T05:41:22","slug":"nashville-aquatic-club-earns-national-age-group-record-in-400-medley-relay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/nashville-aquatic-club-earns-national-age-group-record-in-400-medley-relay\/","title":{"rendered":"Nashville Aquatic Club Earns National Age Group Record In 400 Medley Relay"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Southeastern long course championships witnessed a U.S. national age group record by Nashville Aquatic Club to close out the meet in the 400 medley relay.<\/p>\n<p>The foursome of Alex Walsh, Ella Nelson, Kallie Chelsvig and Lauren Hurt posted a 4:18.41 in the event to 4:20.82 set in 2008 by a North Baltimore group that included current U.S. national team member Elizabeth Pelton.<\/p>\n<p>Walsh\u2019s leadoff time of 1:02.67 just missed her lifetime best of 1:02.64, which she swam earlier in the meet to place first in the open division as a 13-year-old. Her previous best before the meet was a 1:05.55 from 2014.<\/p>\n<h2>Nashville Aquatic Club 400 medley relay splits<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Walsh (backstroke):<\/strong> 1:02.67<br \/>\n<strong>Nelson (breaststroke):<\/strong> 1:11.83<br \/>\n<strong>Chelsvig (butterfly):<\/strong> 1:03.46<br \/>\n<strong> Hurt (freestyle):<\/strong> 1:00.45<\/p>\n<p>The Nashville Aquatic Club has churned out many successful age-group swimmers over many decades. Some of them, such as Tracy Caulkins and Ashley Whitney, competed at the Olympic Games. Chas Morton is regarded as one of the most successful American age group swimmers in history, breaking many longstanding national age group records while swimming for the Nashville Aquatic Club.
