{"id":144424,"date":"2015-07-17T09:48:16","date_gmt":"2015-07-17T16:48:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=144424"},"modified":"2015-07-17T09:48:16","modified_gmt":"2015-07-17T16:48:16","slug":"west-florida-womens-swimming-and-diving-announces-challenging-2015-16-schedule","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/west-florida-womens-swimming-and-diving-announces-challenging-2015-16-schedule\/","title":{"rendered":"West Florida Women\u2019s Swimming and Diving Announces Challenging 2015-16 Schedule"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 2015-16 schedule has been confirmed for the University of West Florida women\u2019s swimming and diving team, it was announced by head coach <strong>Andrew Hancock<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of the ways we build on our program\u2019s early success is to continue to challenge ourselves,&#8221; Hancock said. &#8220;I feel that this schedule will accomplish that goal.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>West Florida will open the season at home on <span data-term=\"goog_243250886\">October 16-17<\/span> at the UWF Aquatic Center by facing a trio of Division-I opponents including Tulane, Arkansas Little Rock and Air Force.<\/p>\n<p>The Argonauts will then travel to the team\u2019s first invitational meet of the season in Sewanee, Tennessee at the Sewanee Invitational hosted by the University of the South on <span data-term=\"goog_243250887\">October 30-31<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>West Florida will then head to Tallahassee, Florida to face Florida State, Florida Gulf Coast and Florida Southern on <span data-term=\"goog_243250888\">November 6-7<\/span>. Florida State and Florida Gulf Coast both finished in the top 30 at the 2015 NCAA DI National Championships with Florida Southern finishing 14<sup>th<\/sup> at the 2015 NCAA DII National Championships.<\/p>\n<p>UWF will compete in the FIT Invitational hosted by Florida Tech on <span data-term=\"goog_243250889\">November 19-22<\/span> in Melbourne, Florida. The West Florida diving squad will also compete at the Emory Diving Invitational on <span data-term=\"goog_243250890\">Saturday, November 21<\/span> in Atlanta, Georgia.<\/p>\n<p>West Florida will play host to the UWF Holiday Invite on Saturday, January 2 at 11 a.m. CT before hosting Birmingham Southern and Southwestern on Friday, January 8 at 3 p.m. CT at the UWF Aquatic Center.<\/p>\n<p>The Argos will travel to Cleveland, Mississippi on <span data-term=\"goog_243250893\">Friday, January 15<\/span> to face Delta State and Henderson State for the team\u2019s final regular season road trip. DSU finished 9<sup>th<\/sup> at the 2015 NCAA DII National Championships and third behind UWF and St. Cloud State at the 2015 NSISC Championships.<\/p>\n<p>UWF will then play host to Delta State and Emory on <span data-term=\"goog_243250894\">Saturday, January 23 at 11 a.m. CT<\/span> at the UWF Aquatic Center.<\/p>\n<p>West Florida will compete in the 2016 New South Intercollegiate Swimming Conference Championships on <span data-term=\"goog_243250895\">February 17-20<\/span> in Cleveland, Mississippi.
