Speedo Australia has today announced the re-signing of Australian swimming legend Grant\u00a0Hackett<\/strong> as their newest ambassador.<\/p>\n

This is a long standing relationship, with Speedo having sponsored Hackett throughout his\u00a0swimming career. Grant\u2019s sponsorship started with the brand in 1999, 16 years ago.<\/p>\n

The brand has seen the star win all seven of his Olympic medals in iconic Speedo\u00a0swimsuits, and is proud to be supporting Hackett on his journey to the Kazan World\u00a0Championships & Rio Olympics in 2016.<\/p>\n

After an illustrious career in the pool that saw him become the first man in history to win four\u00a0back-to-back World Championship titles in the 1500m Freestyle – and countless Olympic &\u00a0Commonwealth medals for his country, Hackett retired from Australian swimming following\u00a0the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.<\/p>\n

His most notable wins to date are Gold in the 1500m at the 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games.\u00a0He retired the master of the pool and was rewarded for his efforts by being named the first\u00a0ever Australian Swimming Captain.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s an honour and a privilege to once again be associated with such an iconic brand\u201d\u00a0Hackett said. \u201cSpeedo has helped the sport evolve for many decades in high performance,\u00a0grassroots and for recreational swimmers, and I am looking forward to sharing the journey\u00a0ahead with them.\u201d<\/p>\n

The sponsorship announcement closely follows Hackett\u2019s remarkable results at the 2015\u00a0Australian Championships having only returned to the pool for 6 months after 7 years in\u00a0retirement.<\/p>\n
