MELBOURNE, Australia, March 28. HEAR Australian National Team Coach Alan Thompson weigh in on Grant Hackett. Listen to learn if Hackett will bypass the 1,500 freestyle, the changes in his life and his future heading into the Beijing Olympics.<\/p>\n

After winning the bronze medal in the 400 freestyle on the first night of competition, Hackett placed seventh Wednesday night in the 800 free, where he was the defending champion and world-record holder. Hackett has had a lot of personal issues to deal with lately, including the change of coaches from Denis Cotterell to Ian Pope and an impending marriage.<\/p>\n
