Colombia’s Jorge Murillo<\/strong> tied the Pan American Games record in the men’s 200-meter breaststroke this morning.<\/p>\n

Murillo clocked a time of 2:11.62 to match the 2:11.62 set by USA’s Sean Mahoney<\/strong> back in 2011. \u00a0That’s a huge Colombian record for Murillo, blasting his previous mark of 2:13.17 from 2014.<\/p>\n

Brazil’s Thiago Simon<\/strong> qualified second in 2:12.05 with Canada’s Richard Funk<\/strong> posting a third-seeded 2:12.22.<\/p>\n

USA’s BJ Johnson<\/strong> (2:12.81), Brazil’s Thiago Pereira<\/strong> (2:12.89), Venezuela’s Carlos Claverie<\/strong> (2:12.97), Mexico’s Miguel De Lara<\/strong> (2:13.79) and Colombia’s Carlos Mahecha<\/strong> (2:14.20) also will swim in the A final.<\/p>\n

USA’s Brad Craig<\/strong> (2:14.3!), Mexico’s Miguel Chavez<\/strong> (2:1.07), Canada’s James Dergousoff<\/strong> (2:16.30), Venezuela’s Juan Sequera<\/strong> (2:17.52), Argentina’s Facundo Miguelena<\/strong> (2:17.67), Bahamas’ Dustin Tynes<\/strong> (2:18.13), Argentina’s Rodrigo Frutos<\/strong> (2:19.03) and Aruba’s Jordy Groters<\/strong> (2:20.40) will compete in the consolation heat.<\/p>\n
