Canada’s Audrey Lacroix<\/strong> had way too much in the tank down the stretch to pull away from the field to win the women’s 200-meter fly at the 2015 Pan American Games.<\/p>\n

Lacroix cranked out a winning time of 2:07.68 to just miss Kathleen Hersey’s<\/strong> 2007 Games record of 2:07.64. \u00a0Lacroix just missed her seventh-ranked season best of 2:07.63 from the Canet stop of the Mare Nostrum.<\/p>\n

USA’s Katharine Mills<\/strong>, who was neck-and-neck with Lacroix at the 150, just could not keep up the relentless pace as she settled for silver with a 2:09.31.<\/p>\n

Brazil’s Joanna Maranhao<\/strong> downed the South American record in the event with a bronze-winning 2:09.38. That swim clipped her own record of 2:09.41 from the 2009 Jose Finkel Trophy meet.<\/p>\n

Venezuela’s Andreina Pinto<\/strong> broke 2:10 for the first time with a fourth-place 2:09.51 to break her Venezuelan mark of 2:10.11 from the 2013 World Championships.<\/p>\n

Argentina’s Virginia Bardach<\/strong> (2:13.25), Venezuela’s Isabella Paez<\/strong> (2:13.64), Mexico’s Diana Luna<\/strong> (2:13.90) and Guatemala’s Valerie Gruest<\/strong> (2:14.03) also participated in the A final.<\/p>\n

Brazil’s Manuella Lyrio<\/strong> threw down the hammer the final 50 meters to win the B final in 2:13.37.<\/p>\n

Colombia’s Jessica Camposano<\/strong> just missed her national record of 2:14.18 from the 2014 CAC Games with a second-place 2:14.22.<\/p>\n

USA’s Kylie Stewart<\/strong> placed third in the consolation heat in 2:14.64.<\/p>\n

Puerto Rico’s Tereysa Lehnertz<\/strong> (2:1805), Chile’s Estefania Urzua<\/strong> (2:18.16), Panama’s Maria Far<\/strong> (2:18.75), Caymans Islands’ Lara Butler<\/strong> (2:21.52) and Jamaica’s Trudian Patrick<\/strong> (2:23.65) also competed in the consolation heat.<\/p>\n
