Team USA continued to dominate relays at the Pan American Games as the Stars and Stripes smashed its own meet record in the women’s 400-meter free relay.<\/p>\n

Katie Meili<\/strong> (55.51), Allison Schmitt<\/strong> (53.82), Madison Kennedy<\/strong> (53.92) and Kelsi Worrell<\/strong> (54.03) smoked prelims with a top time of 3:37.28. \u00a0That effort smashed the previous mark of 3:40.66 set by the U.S. in 2011, and finished more than five seconds ahead of Canada.<\/p>\n

Canada’s Sandrine Mainville<\/strong> (54.89), Alyson Ackman<\/strong> (55.68), Katerine Savard<\/strong> (55.40) and Dominique Bouchard<\/strong> (56.86) took the second seed in 3:42.83.<\/p>\n

Brazil’s Daiane Oliveira<\/strong> (56.93), Manuella Lyrio<\/strong> (56.95), Etiene Medeiros<\/strong> (56.17) and Daynara De Paula<\/strong> (56.68) put up a third-seeded 3:46.73.<\/p>\n

Colombia (3:49.61), Venezuela (3:49.89), Mexico (3:51.61), Peru (3:54.44) and Jamaica (3:59.09) also competed in prelims.<\/p>\n
