{"id":143184,"date":"2015-07-13T15:33:27","date_gmt":"2015-07-13T22:33:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=143184"},"modified":"2015-07-13T15:33:27","modified_gmt":"2015-07-13T22:33:27","slug":"unc-swimming-diving-releases-2015-2016-schedule","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/unc-swimming-diving-releases-2015-2016-schedule\/","title":{"rendered":"UNC Swimming &#038; Diving Releases 2015-2016 Schedule"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The University of North Carolina swimming and diving teams have announced their 2015-16 competitive schedules and the Tar Heels will be going up against the nation&#8217;s best in the coming season.<\/p>\n<p>The entire 2015-16 schedule can be viewed at this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.goheels.com\/SportSelect.dbml?&amp;DB_OEM_ID=3350&amp;SPID=12970&amp;SPSID=668166&amp;SITE=UNC&amp;DB_OEM_ID=3350\">link<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Tar Heels have 10 dual meets on the slate, almost all of them against teams which finished in the Top 20 of the NCAA Championships last year.<\/p>\n<p>The Carolina men finished 18th at the 2015 NCAA Championships, their fourth Top 20 placing in the past six years.\u00a0 The Tar Heel women were 19th, marking their fourth straight year in the Top 20 and the sixth time they have accomplished that in the past seven seasons.<\/p>\n<p>Based on NCAA Tournament finishes from last year, the UNC men will face defending NCAA champion Texas to highlight a dual meet schedule which also includes Georgia (7th), NC State (8th), Indiana (12th), Tennessee (14th) and Louisville (15th).<\/p>\n<p>The UNC women will face eight opponents who finished ahead of them in last year&#8217;s NCAA Championships &#8211; Georgia (2nd), Virginia (5th), Louisville (6th), Texas (7th), Indiana (10th), Tennessee (11th), Kentucky (16th) and NC State (17th).<\/p>\n<p>Carolina has home dual meets scheduled against Louisville, Texas, Navy, Virginia and NC State.<\/p>\n<p>The Tar Heels will play host to the annual Nike Cup Championships <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1074343001\"><span class=\"aQJ\">November 19-21<\/span><\/span> in Chapel Hill, hosting NC State, Navy, Duke, East Carolina, Old Dominion, Yale and James Madison.<\/p>\n<p>The ACC Championships are slated for Greensboro, N.C. with the women competing <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1074343002\"><span class=\"aQJ\">February 17-20<\/span><\/span> and the men<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1074343003\"><span class=\"aQJ\">February 24-27<\/span><\/span>.\u00a0 Both NCAA Championships will be in Atlanta with the women&#8217;s meet on tap <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1074343004\"><span class=\"aQJ\">March 17-19<\/span><\/span> and the men&#8217;s meet <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1074343005\"><span class=\"aQJ\">March 24-26<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><i>The above article is a press release submitted to Swimming World.
