{"id":142866,"date":"2015-07-11T17:53:39","date_gmt":"2015-07-12T00:53:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=142866"},"modified":"2015-07-12T09:55:19","modified_gmt":"2015-07-12T16:55:19","slug":"laura-sogar-claims-200-breast-title-at-austin-sectionals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/laura-sogar-claims-200-breast-title-at-austin-sectionals\/","title":{"rendered":"Laura Sogar Claims 200 Breast Title at Austin Sectionals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Laura Sogar<\/strong>\u00a0smoked the competition with a 2:27.38 in the women&#8217;s 200-meter breaststroke, finishing 8.81 seconds ahead of the competition during day three of the Austin Speedo Sectionals.\u00a0<strong>Destiny Nelson<\/strong> finished second overall with a 2:36.19. <b>Regan Barney<\/b> rounded out the top three with a 2:38.85.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Emma\u00a0<\/strong><b>Sieberlich<\/b> claimed first in the women&#8217;s 200-meter fly with a 2:12.69, dropping 1.71 seconds from her prelims time of 2:14.40.\u00a0<strong>Dakota Luther<\/strong> finished second with a 2:14.36, while\u00a0<strong>Kelsey\u00a0Leneave<\/strong> was third with a 2:14.43.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Taylor Abbott\u00a0<\/strong>posted a 2:02.76 for the win in the men&#8217;s 200-meter fly.\u00a0<strong>Jack LeVant\u00a0<\/strong>was a close second with a 2:02.88, while\u00a0<strong>Zachary Cootes<\/strong> finished third with a 2:03.11.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Beryl Gastaldello<\/strong> took the women&#8217;s 50-meter free with a 25.56, dropping .30 seconds from her prelims time of 25.86.\u00a0<strong>Elizabeth Boyce\u00a0<\/strong>claimed second with a 25.91, while\u00a0<strong>Lauren Pitzer<\/strong> rounded out the top three with a 25.92.<\/p>\n<p>The men&#8217;s 50-meter free was a close race with the top two finishers touching within .01 of each other.\u00a0<strong>Marshall Seedorff\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Jason Head\u00a0<\/strong>kept it close but it was Seedorff who got his fingers on the wall first with a 23.59. Head finished second with a 23.60, while\u00a0<strong>Tate Jackson<\/strong> was third with a 23.64.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thiago Parravicini\u00a0<\/strong>finished first in the mens&#8217; 200-meter breaststroke with a 2:16.21.\u00a0<strong>Hayden Henry\u00a0<\/strong>was second overall with a 2:19.13, while\u00a0<strong>Robert Thomas<\/strong> took third with a 2:22.04.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Megan Romano<\/strong>\u00a0posted a 1:02.47 to claim the win in the women&#8217;s 100-meter back.\u00a0<b>Tasija Karosas\u00a0<\/b>took second with a 1:02.91, while Seiberlich grabbed third with a 1:03.39.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Andrii Nikishenko\u00a0<\/strong>swam ahead of the competition in the men&#8217;s 100-meter back, posting a 56.85 to take the win.\u00a0<strong>Austin Vacek<\/strong> finished second with a 57.76, dropping .47 seconds from his prelims time of 58.23.\u00a0<strong>Jacob DeMercurio<\/strong> was third with a 58.05.<\/p>\n<p>The women&#8217;s 400-meter free was won by\u00a0<strong>Joy Field<\/strong> who posted a winning time of 4:15.50, a 3.01 second drop from her prelims time of 4:18.51.\u00a0<strong>Kaitlin Pawlowicz\u00a0<\/strong>claimed the second-place title with a 4:17.15, while\u00a0<strong>Lauren Pitzer<\/strong> rounded out the top three wit ha 4:17.75.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a
