The Iowa City, Iowa, native will swim in the 200 fly on\u00a0<span data-term=\"goog_710953325\">July 14<\/span> and 100 fly on <span data-term=\"goog_710953326\">July 16<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTereysa\u2019s had an exciting summer thus far by making the Puerto Rican National Team, breaking a national record, and now competing at the Pan American Games,\u201d said Long. \u201cShe has worked hard and raced well in preparation for the upcoming games.\u00a0 We\u2019re proud and excited to see her swim fast and have fun in an amazing competitive environment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Freeman will dive for the United States individually off the 3-meter and alongside <strong>Maren Taylor<\/strong> in the 3-meter synchronized event.\u00a0 The preliminaries and finals of the 3-meter will be held <span data-term=\"goog_710953327\">July 12<\/span>, while the 3-meter synchro finals will take place <span data-term=\"goog_710953328\">July 13<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am proud that Deidre made the team and that she will represent the United States,\u201d said UI diving coach <strong>Todd Waikel<\/strong>, who is a team leader for Team USA. \u201cThis will be a great venue for her.\u00a0 Her mother is from Canada and one side of her family lives 1\/2 hour outside Toronto.\u00a0 It\u2019s going to be special for Deidre with all of her family there supporting her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDeidre is coming off a great performance at the World Championship Trials.\u00a0 She is on the up-tick right now, so the expectations are for her to peak perform (this week).
