Hit refresh for the latest coverage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s 1500 free finals<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Italy&#8217;s <strong>Martina Rita Caramignoli<\/strong> dominated the women&#8217;s 1500-meter free with a top time of 16:06.71.<\/p>\n<p>That swim shot Caramignoli to sixth in the world rankings, and finished just a few seconds back of <strong>Stephanie Peacock&#8217;s<\/strong> meet record of 16:04.44.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1500 Free World Rankings<\/strong><\/p>\n[table \u201c\u201d not found \/]<br \/>\n\n<p>USA&#8217;s <strong>Lindsay Vrooman<\/strong> raced her way to silver with a time of 16:13.85 to take 15th in the world rankings. That&#8217;s a big time drop for Vrooman, who came into the meet with a 16:22.71 personal best from the 2013 U.S. Open.<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s <strong>Kiah Melverton<\/strong> took bronze with a time of 16:21.39 to move to 19th in the world rankings.<\/p>\n<p>China&#8217;s<strong> Li Xuanxu<\/strong> (16:21.63), Japan&#8217;s <strong>Yuna Kikuchi<\/strong> (16:31.11), Japan&#8217;s <strong>Asari Wada<\/strong> (16:32.55), USA&#8217;s <strong>Kathryn Campbell<\/strong> (16:41.82) and Czech&#8217;s <strong>Martina Elhenicka<\/strong> (16:44.95) also competed in the finale.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men&#8217;s 200 fly semis<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A pair of 1:55s led the way in semis of the men&#8217;s 200-meter fly this evening.<\/p>\n<p>Russia&#8217;s<strong> Evgeny Koptelov<\/strong> raced his way to the top seed out of the first semifinal\u00a0with a 1:55.58 to move to 10th in the world rankings.<\/p>\n<p>Japan&#8217;s <strong>Masayuki Umemoto<\/strong> followed with an 11th-ranked time of 1:55.72 in the second semifinal.<\/p>\n<p>That duo could take down<strong> Pawel Korzeniowski&#8217;s<\/strong> meet record of 1:54.30 set in 2009.<\/p>\n<p>France&#8217;s <strong>Jordan Coelho<\/strong> (1:56.56) and Italy&#8217;s <strong>Francesco Pavone<\/strong> (1:56.67) qualified third and fourth.<\/p>\n<p>Japan&#8217;s<strong>\u00a0Yuya Yajima<\/strong> (1:56.74), USA&#8217;s <strong>Andrew Seliskar<\/strong> (1:56.84), Russia&#8217;s <strong>Aleksandr Pribytok<\/strong> (1:56.92) and Australia&#8217;s <strong>Nicholas Brown<\/strong> (1:57.08) also made the finale.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s 200 IM semis<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A trio of swimmers put up 2:12s during semis of the women&#8217;s 200-meter IM.<\/p>\n<p>USA&#8217;s <strong>Madisyn Cox<\/strong> clocked her second lifetime best of the day with a 2:12.15 to lead everyone. \u00a0That swim bettered her prelim time of 2:12.79 that smashed her lifetime best of 2:14.23 from last summer&#8217;s nationals.<\/p>\n<p>Cox moved to 18th in the world with her swim, and is just off <strong>Ava Ohlgren&#8217;s<\/strong> 2009 meet record of 2:12.07.<\/p>\n<p>China&#8217;s <strong>Zhang Sishi<\/strong> qualified second in 2:12.55, while Australia&#8217;s<strong> Ellen Fullerton<\/strong> turned in a third-seed time of 2:12.94.<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s <strong>Aisling Scott<\/strong> (2:14.08), Czech&#8217;s <strong>Barbora Zavadova<\/strong> (2:14.19), South Korea&#8217;s <strong>Seoyeong Kim<\/strong> (2:14.37), Italy&#8217;s <strong>Luisa Trombetti<\/strong> (2:14.42) and Japan&#8217;s <strong>Miho Takahashi<\/strong> (2:14.58) will also vie for the championship gold in finals.<\/p>\n<p>USA&#8217;s <strong>Celina Li<\/strong> wound up 11th overall in 2:15.68.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s 100 breast finals<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Japan&#8217;s <strong>Mina Matsushima<\/strong> had just too much coming home for USA&#8217;s<strong> Lilly King<\/strong> to handle as Matsushima overhauled the field with a 35.01 down the stretch. Matsushima initially turned in seventh with a 31.75 at the 50.<\/p>\n<p>Matsushima won gold with a time of 1:06.76 to move to fifth in the world rankings, and is the second-fastest woman from Japan behind <strong>Kanako Watanabe&#8217;s<\/strong> 1:06.45 from Japanese Nationals.<\/p>\n<p>King, meanwhile, cracked 1:07 for the first time with a 1:06.93 to take silver after going out in 31.26. That swim pushed her to seventh in the world rankings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>100 Breast World Rankings<\/strong><\/p>\n[table \u201c\u201d not found \/]<br \/>\n\n<p>Ireland&#8217;s <strong>Fiona Doyle<\/strong> raced her way to bronze with a time of 1:07.15. That swim pushed her to 13th in the world rankings in what proved to be a fast finale.<\/p>\n<p>Italy&#8217;s <strong>Ilaria Scarcela<\/strong> (1:07.62), Australia&#8217;s <strong>Jessica Hansen<\/strong> (1:07.80), Ukraine&#8217;s <strong>Mariia Liver<\/strong> (1:07.94), Italy&#8217;s <strong>Martina Carraro<\/strong> (1:08.07) and Russia&#8217;s <strong>Natalia Ivaneeva<\/strong> (1:08.22) rounded out the finale.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men&#8217;s 200 breast semis<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In one of the more stacked events coming into Gwangju, Great Britain&#8217;s <strong>Craig Benson<\/strong> looks to be standing up to his medal favorite status after leading qualifying in 2:10.18.<\/p>\n<p>That time is off his ninth-ranked season best of 2:09.32 from British Nationals, but is more than enough to put him into the top seed in finals.<\/p>\n<p>Japan&#8217;s <strong>Kazuki Kohinata<\/strong> qualified second in 2:10.63, off his 10th-ranked season best of 2:09.51 from the Japan Open.<\/p>\n<p>Russia&#8217;s <strong>Kirill Prigoda<\/strong> snared the third seed in 2:10.95, while eighth-ranked <strong>Josh Prenot<\/strong> (with a 2:09.30 from the Arena Pro Swim Series) qualified fourth in 2:11.04.<\/p>\n<p>Unless the top swimmers are keeping their powder dry for finals, it&#8217;s unlikely any will take down <strong>Igor Borysik&#8217;s<\/strong> meet record of 2:08.73 from 2009.<\/p>\n<p>Italy&#8217;s <strong>Luca Pizzini<\/strong> (2:11.26), Italy&#8217;s <strong>Flavio Bizzarri<\/strong> (2:11.68), Great Britain&#8217;s <strong>Calum Tait<\/strong> (2:11.84) and Kazakhstan&#8217;s <strong>Dmitriy Balandin<\/strong> (2:11.98) also earned spots in the finale.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men&#8217;s 200 free finals<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Red, White and Blue went 1-2 in the men&#8217;s 200-meter free as <strong>Reed Malone<\/strong> and <strong>Clay Youngquist<\/strong> swept the top of the podium.<\/p>\n<p>Malone clocked in with a 1:47.15 for the gold medal, jumping to 16th in the world rankings in the process. \u00a0That swim cleared his previous best of 1:47.41 from last summer&#8217;s nationals.<\/p>\n<p>Youngquist, meanwhile, took home silver with a time of 1:47.91. That&#8217;s just barely his lifetime best, clipping the 1:47.93 he also clocked last year at summer nationals.<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s <strong>Jacob Hansford<\/strong> placed third overall with a time of 1:48.29.<\/p>\n<p>Japan&#8217;s <strong>Naito Ehara<\/strong> (1:48.41), Italy&#8217;s <strong>Gianluca Maglia<\/strong> (1:48.54), Japan&#8217;s <strong>Reo Sakata<\/strong> (1:48.99), China&#8217;s <strong>Qian Zhiyong<\/strong> (1:49.06) and Switzerland&#8217;s <strong>Alexandre Haldemann<\/strong> (1:49.13) closed out the championship heat.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s 100 back semis<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Canada&#8217;s <strong>Kylie Masse<\/strong> looks to be determined to upset the vaunted U.S. backstroke dynamic duo of <strong>Elizabeth Pelton<\/strong> and <strong>Rachel Bootsma<\/strong> as she picked up the top seed for the second session in a row ahead of the pair.<\/p>\n<p>Masse clocked a time of 1:00.26 to move to 16th in the world rankings, bettering her 1:00.50 from the Canadian Team Trials earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>Bootsma, meanwhile, took the second seed into finals with a 1:00.64, while Pelton won the first semifinal with a third-seeded effort of 1:00.92. \u00a0Italy&#8217;s <strong>Carlotta Zofkova<\/strong> also joined them under 1:01 with a fourth-seeded 1:00.94.<\/p>\n<p>Russia&#8217;s <strong>Polina Lapshina<\/strong> (1:01.23), Kazakhstan&#8217;s <strong>Yekaterina Rudenko<\/strong> (1:01.34), Czech&#8217;s <strong>Simona Baumrtova<\/strong> (1:01.39) and Australia&#8217;s <strong>Holly Barratt<\/strong> (1:01.71) will also swim in the championship heat.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men&#8217;s 200 IM finals<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In an incredibly close finale, the men&#8217;s 200-meter IM ran out of room to decide the gold medal as USA&#8217;s <strong>Josh Prenot<\/strong> and Australia&#8217;s <strong>Justin James<\/strong> shared the gold medal in Gwangju.<\/p>\n<p>Prenot and James put up matching times of 1:58.38 to share the gold as both moved up to eighth in the world with their swims.<\/p>\n<p>It took a ridiculously fast breaststroke split of 32.83 for Prenot to even have a chance at the tie as he went from seventh to third in the pack after the breaststroke.<\/p>\n<p>Japan&#8217;s <strong>Keita Sunama<\/strong> clinched the bronze with a time of 1:58.45 to tie Dan Wallace for 10th in the world rankings.<\/p>\n<p>Japan&#8217;s <strong>Takeharu Fujimori<\/strong> just missed the podium with a fourth-place time of 1:58.85.<\/p>\n<p>There was a clear difference between the top four and the rest of the pack.<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s <strong>Travis Mahoney<\/strong> (2:00.16), Great Britain&#8217;s <strong>Max Litchfield<\/strong> (2:00.25), USA&#8217;s <strong>Kyle Whitaker<\/strong> (2:00.67) and Russia&#8217;s <strong>Dmitrii Gorbunov<\/strong> (2:01.54) comprised the rest of the finale.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s 100 free finals<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Stars and Stripes ripped off another freestyle 1-2 as <strong>Shannon Vreeland<\/strong> and <strong>Abbey Weitzeil<\/strong> captured the top two spots in the 100 free.<\/p>\n<p>Vreeland, and Olympic gold\u00a0medalist, use that extended experience to top the finale in 54.39.
