{"id":141259,"date":"2015-07-04T08:59:00","date_gmt":"2015-07-04T15:59:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=141259"},"modified":"2015-07-04T09:40:51","modified_gmt":"2015-07-04T16:40:51","slug":"sarah-sjostrom-snares-5th-title-of-swedish-summer-nationals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/sarah-sjostrom-snares-5th-title-of-swedish-summer-nationals\/","title":{"rendered":"Sarah Sjostrom Snares 5th Title of Swedish Summer Nationals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Sarah Sjostrom<\/strong> won her fifth title of the meet with a sizzling 50 fly at the Swedish Summer Championships.<\/p>\n<p>Sjostrom clocked a time of 25.07, half-a-second off her world best of 24.69 from the Eindhoven Swim Cup. \u00a0That was more than enough for her fifth victory, considering <strong>Magdalena Kuras<\/strong> placed second in 27.24. \u00a0<strong>My Fridell<\/strong> took third in 27.91.<\/p>\n<p>Sjostrom then split a 55.62 butterfly split for Sodertorns fourth-place time of 4:14.86 in the women&#8217;s 400-meter medley relay. \u00a0Helsingborgs won in 4:09.50.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Christoffer Carlsen<\/strong> picked up the men&#8217;s 50-meter free title in 23.19. \u00a0<strong>Oscar Ekstrom<\/strong> finished second in 23.30 with <strong>Petter Stymne<\/strong> earning third in 23.54.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jennie Johansson<\/strong>, who is ranked 12th in the world in the 100-meter breast with a 1:07.19, took that event&#8217;s title tonight in 1:07.40. \u00a0<strong>Sophie Hansson<\/strong> finished second in 1:09.00 with <strong>Vilma Ekstrom<\/strong> taking third in 1:10.86.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mattias Carlsson<\/strong> won the men&#8217;s 200-meter back in a time of 2:02.09. \u00a0<strong>Petter Fredriksson<\/strong> placed second in 2:03.22 with <strong>Fabian Bergman<\/strong> earning third in 2:04.74.<\/p>\n<p>Ekstrom collected his second medal of the night with a 53.78 to win the men&#8217;s 100-meter fly. \u00a0<strong>Alexander Nystrom<\/strong> placed second in 54.47 with <strong>Jesper Jonsson<\/strong> taking third in 54.88.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Henriette Stenkvist<\/strong> tops women&#8217;s 400-meter free in 4:17.84. \u00a0<strong>Erica Dahlgren<\/strong> tied <strong>Frida Berggren<\/strong> for second with matching 4:22.25s.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Victor Johansson<\/strong> won the men&#8217;s 800-meter free in 8:15.11, while <strong>Christopher Jedel<\/strong> took second in 8:18.22. \u00a0<strong>Simon Plato<\/strong> wound up third in 8:23.66.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"\/results\/2015-swedish-swimming-nationals-day-4-day-4\/international-elite\/2015\/July\/1\" target=\"_blank\">2015 Swedish Swimming Nationals, Day 4 &#8211; Results<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sarah Sjostrom won her fifth title of the meet with a sizzling 50 fly at the Swedish Summer Championships.
