{"id":140618,"date":"2015-06-29T09:44:01","date_gmt":"2015-06-29T16:44:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=140618"},"modified":"2015-06-29T09:46:48","modified_gmt":"2015-06-29T16:46:48","slug":"peter-bernek-boglarka-kapas-distance-free-champs-at-hungary-national-championships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/peter-bernek-boglarka-kapas-distance-free-champs-at-hungary-national-championships\/","title":{"rendered":"Peter Bernek, Boglarka Kapas Distance Free Champs at Hungary National Championships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Peter Bernek<\/strong> and <strong>Boglarka Kapas<\/strong> continued their reign over the distance free events during day three of the Hungary National Championships with Bernek claiming the win in the 200-meter free and Kapas claiming the 1500-meter free.<\/p>\n<p>Prelims of day three of the Hungary National Championships began with some quick swims from the men in the 50-meter breaststroke.\u00a0<strong>Francesco Di Lecce<\/strong> clocked a swift 27.91 to be the only contender under 28 seconds.\u00a0<strong>Nicocolo Ossola<\/strong>\u00a0was a 28.25, and\u00a0<strong>David Horvath<\/strong>\u00a0posted a 28.57 to grab the third-place seed.<\/p>\n<p>Later in semi-finals Di Lecce maintained his hold on the first-place seed with a 28.07.\u00a0<strong>Financsek Gabor<\/strong> moved up to the second-place seed with a 28.49, while\u00a0<strong>Tamas Szabo<\/strong> took third with a 28.50.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Erika Musso<\/strong>\u00a0finished on top in prelims of the women&#8217;s 200-meter free with a 2:02.38.\u00a0<strong>Zsuzsanna Jakabos\u00a0<\/strong>claimed the second-place seed with a 2:03.04, while\u00a0<strong>Melinda Novoszath<\/strong> rounded out the top three with a 2:03.52.<\/p>\n<p>Musso managed to shave off 1.81 seconds in semi-finals to keep her lead with a 2:00.57 finish.\u00a0<strong>Ajna Kesely<\/strong> moved up in the rankings with a 2:01.14, while\u00a0<strong>Boglarka Kapas<\/strong> took over the third-place seed with a 2:02.38.<\/p>\n<p>Prelims of the men&#8217;s 200-meter fly saw <strong>Tamas Kenderesi\u00a0<\/strong>out in front with a a finishing time of 2:00.90.\u00a0<strong>Laszlo Cseh\u00a0<\/strong>grabbed the second-place seed with a 2:01.80, while\u00a0<strong>Ioannis Drymonakos\u00a0<\/strong>was third with a 2:02.81.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bence Biczo<\/strong> flew to the top of semi-finals with a scorching 1:56.58 in the men&#8217;s 200-meter fly, dropping over six seconds from his prelims time of 2:02.91. Kenderesi dropped back to second with a 1:59.29, while Drymonakos turned in a 1:59.93 to maintain his third-place seed.<\/p>\n<p>The men&#8217;s 800-meter free saw\u00a0<strong>Samuel Pizzeti\u00a0<\/strong>with a slim lead over the competition. Pizzeti finished with an 8:07.34 to claim the first-place seed. Close behind were\u00a0<strong>Akaram Ahmed<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Peter Bernek<\/strong>\u00a0who tied for the second-place seed with a finishing time of 8:07.43.<\/p>\n<p>Bernek claimed the men&#8217;s 200-meter free with a final time of 1:48.93. Cseh finished second overall with a 1:49.09, while\u00a0<strong>Alex Di Giorgio\u00a0<\/strong>took third with a 1:49.11.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sara Joo<\/strong>\u00a0maintained her hold on the women&#8217;s 100-meter back with a final time of 1:03.14 to clinch the victory.\u00a0<strong>Reka Gyorgy<\/strong>\u00a0was second with a 1:03.25, while\u00a0<strong>Katalin Burian<\/strong> finished third with a 1:03.60.<\/p>\n<p>Kapas continued to impress in the distance free events by shaving an entire minute off of her 1500-meter free prelim time of 17:27.79 to claim the win with a 16:27.00.\u00a0<strong>Adel Juhasz\u00a0<\/strong>finished second overall with a final time of 16:34.08, while Novoszath was third with a 16:49.79.<\/p>\n<p>Finals of the men&#8217;s 100-meter back went to\u00a0<strong>Gabor Balog<\/strong> who finished with a 54.64. Cseh was a close second with a final time of 54.72.\u00a0<strong>Radoslaw Kawecki<\/strong> rounded out the top three with a time of 55.14.<\/p>\n<p>The final event of the day was the women&#8217;s 100-meter breaststroke and it was\u00a0<strong>Ganna Dzerkal<\/strong> who claimed the win with a finishing time of 1:09.72, dropping 2.4 seconds off her time in semi-finals. <b>Dalma Sebestyen\u00a0<\/b>took second overall with a 1:10.21, while\u00a0<strong>Viktoria Kardos\u00a0<\/strong>finished third with a 1:11.16.<\/p>\n<p><a
