{"id":140520,"date":"2015-06-28T08:47:17","date_gmt":"2015-06-28T15:47:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=140520"},"modified":"2015-06-28T08:47:17","modified_gmt":"2015-06-28T15:47:17","slug":"kevin-cordes-quah-siblings-shine-in-singapore","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/kevin-cordes-quah-siblings-shine-in-singapore\/","title":{"rendered":"Kevin Cordes, Quah Siblings Shine in Singapore"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>American <strong>Kevin Cordes<\/strong> and the Singapore Quah siblings all had strong meets at the 2015 Singapore Nationals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Zheng Wen Quah<\/strong> topped the men&#8217;s 100-meter back in 54.65, just missing his Singapore record of 54.51 from the 2015 Southeast Asian Games. \u00a0Quah earned another title with a time of 54.04 in the men&#8217;s 100-meter fly.<\/p>\n<p>Quah added a third title to his resume with a winning effort of 49.96 in the men&#8217;s 100-meter free after qualifying through prelims with a 49.73.<\/p>\n<p>Quah&#8217;s older sister, <strong>Ting Wen Quah<\/strong>, captured the women&#8217;s 100-meter fly in 1:00.28. Quah doubled up with a 25.99 to win the women&#8217;s 50-meter free.<\/p>\n<p>The youngest of the Quah siblings, <strong>Jing Wen Quah<\/strong>, claimed the women&#8217;s 200-meter fly in 2:19.02.<\/p>\n<p>American <strong>Kevin Cordes<\/strong>, training in Singapore under the tutelage of Singapore&#8217;s national head coach <strong>Sergio Lopez <\/strong>after completing his NCAA career at the University of Arizona, had a strong weekend himself.<\/p>\n<p>Cordes clocked a 27.54 in the men&#8217;s 50-meter breast to move to 15th in the world rankings. \u00a0He also clocked a 1:00.27 in the men&#8217;s 100-meter breast to tie <strong>Jake Packard<\/strong> for 14th in the world.
