{"id":140326,"date":"2015-06-26T11:23:47","date_gmt":"2015-06-26T18:23:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=140326"},"modified":"2015-06-26T13:25:06","modified_gmt":"2015-06-26T20:25:06","slug":"katie-ledecky-kelsi-worrell-shine-in-day-two-prelims-of-iu-bucceto-open","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/katie-ledecky-kelsi-worrell-shine-in-day-two-prelims-of-iu-bucceto-open\/","title":{"rendered":"Katie Ledecky, Kelsi Worrell Shine in Day Two Prelims of IU Bucceto Open"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Katie Ledecky<\/strong>\u00a0produced an impressive 4:03.67 in the 400 free, a time that is only 3.2 seconds off her world ranking of 4:00.47 for 2015 during prelims of day two at the IU Bucceto Open in Indiana.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Top 5 Women&#8217;s 400 M Free<\/strong><\/p>\n[table \u201c\u201d not found \/]<br \/>\n\n<p>With the impressive times she has been turning in, Ledecky could very well be on her way to breaking her own world record of 3:58.37 at the World Championships in Kazan, Russia.<\/p>\n<p>Day two of the IU Bucceto Open kicked off with <strong>Kelsi Worrell<\/strong> and Ledecky shining\u00a0in prelims of the 100 free. The two young stars\u00a0posted quick times to secure the first and second-place seeds going into finals tonight. Worrell posted a 55.63, while Ledecky finished in 55.91.<\/p>\n<p>The men&#8217;s 100-meter free saw <strong>Blake Pieroni\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Trevor Carroll\u00a0<\/strong>battling for tonight&#8217;s first place seed. Despite a faster first 50 split from Carroll, it was Pieroni who touched first with a 52.21. Carroll took the second place seed with a 52.31, while\u00a0<strong>Kyle DeCoursey<\/strong> rounds out the top three with a 52.61.<\/p>\n<p><b>Hannah Kukurugya\u00a0<\/b>led the pack in the women&#8217;s 200-meter fly finishing with a 2:13.31 to grab the first place seed.\u00a0<strong>Isabella Rongione\u00a0<\/strong>(2:15.51) and\u00a0<strong>Vanna Krause<\/strong> (2:16.31) finished second and third respectively.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Zach Harting<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Max Irwin<\/strong> raced to a close finish in the men&#8217;s 200-meter fly but it was Harting who got his hand on the wall first. Hating (2:08.26), Irwin (2:08.90) and\u00a0<strong>Nathaniel Bledsoe<\/strong> (2:09.18) lead going into tonight&#8217;s finals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Claire Adams\u00a0<\/strong>finished four seconds ahead of the competition to claim the first-place seed in tonight&#8217;s women&#8217;s 200-meter back final.\u00a0<strong>Hannah Magnusen<\/strong> (2:19.03) and\u00a0<strong>Ashley Leclair\u00a0<\/strong>(2:19.17) join her to round out the top three.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Andrew Gemmell\u00a0<\/strong>churned out a quick 3:58.08 in prelims of the men&#8217;s 400-meter free. He is joined in the top three of finals tonight by\u00a0<strong>Matthew Hirschberger\u00a0<\/strong>(4:01.41) and\u00a0<strong>Trevor Carroll\u00a0<\/strong>(4:06.15).<\/p>\n<p><em>All results can be
