GRAND FORKS, North Dakota, February 23. SPEED continued to the be the operative word at the North Central Conference Swimming and Diving Championships as seven records fell during the day's action. All the men's events and five of the seven women's races resulted in "A" cuts to the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships.<\/p>\n
North Dakota continues to lead both the men's and women's divisions after the third day at the NCC Swimming & Diving Championships. On the women's side, North Dakota holds a 649 to 452 advantage over Nebraska-Omaha while the UND men hold a 823 to 462.5 lead over second-place St. Cloud State.The meet concludes on Saturday. The morning session will consist of preliminaries with finals being held in the evening session.<\/p>\n
The North Dakota women's 200 freestyle relay team of Carissa Gormally, Natalia Busso, Lindsey Tande and Madonna Dorsher kicked off the evening session with a NCC record of 1:34.21 and the North Dakota men's 200 freestyle relay of Per Westergren, Pedro Pereira, Anthony Buhr and Eric Knight did the same with a record time of 1:21.21.<\/p>\n
Daniel Moraes of North Dakota continued the torrid pace of the meet when he set a record in the 200 freestyle with a 1:40.00. Chase Fillingham of UND set a new NCC record in the 400 individual medley with a prelim time of 4:03.22 in the morning and then improved the record with a 4:02.20 time in the finals.<\/p>\n
The night wrapped up with the same speed when the North Dakota women's 400 medley relay of Cathryn DeShaw, Sarah Wollenhaupt, Allison Maxwell and Madonna Dorsher clocked a time of 3:51.73 for a new record and the UND men's team of Rodrigo Ferriera, Dan Hansen, Dan Zabler and Eric Knight matched the feat to finish the night with a new NCC record of 3:22.96.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
