COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado, February 21. THE BYU men's and women's teams lead the team rankings with 103 and 120 points, respectively, through day one of the 2007 Mountain West Conference Championships. Wyoming ranks second in both lists with 96 points for the men and 107 points for the women.<\/p>\n
Air Force is third in the men's rankings with 93 points, followed by UNLV (86), Utah (84) and TCU (73). The defending champions Utah women rank third with 86 points, followed by Colorado State (76), UNLV (72), New Mexico (63), TCU (59), Air Force (44) and San Diego State (36).<\/p>\n
Notably, the BYU men snapped UNLV's five-year winning streak in the 200 medley relay, winning by 12 hundredths of a second. The Cougars won the race in 1:28.60. Both BYU and UNLV swam NCAA-B qualifying times in the race.<\/p>\n
Additionally, Utah's Kelsey Patterson won her second three-meter diving title with a score of 322.60. Patterson placed second in 2006 after winning the event in 2005.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Brandon Watson returned BYU to the winner's podium in the men's one-meter dive with a 344.80 after Utah snapped the Cougar's six-year dominance in the event in 2006.<\/p>\n
BYU also repeated as the women's 800 freestyle relay champions with an NCAA-B qualifying time of 7:20.49. The Cougars had finished second for three years before winning the event in 2006 and 2007.<\/p>\n
In addition, the UNLV men won its second consecutive 800 freestyle relay title with an NCAA-B qualifying mark of 6:34.09.
