CHINA's Liu Limin, who has been attending school at the University of Nevada in Reno, returned to China on March 22 to begin training with the Chinese National Team, according to the University of Nevada web site, www.nevadawolfpack.com. Her departure came only days after she won both butterfly events at the women's NCAA Championships, setting a national record in the 200 meters (2:06.04).
\n\t"For the next five months, all I will do is swim and work out," Liu said.<\/p>\n
\tLiu was a gold medalist at the 1994 World Championships and a silver medalist two years later at the Atlanta Olympics, losing the 100 butterfly title by .01 of a second to Amy Van Dyken. Reportedly she had been considered a has-been by the Chinese swimming federation, but, in fact, she has been the most consistent of all Chinese swimmers. She is also the only remaining swimmer from China's 1994 women's World Championship team who has not tested positive for illegal drugs or retired.<\/p>\n
\tAn international business major at Nevada, Liu plans on finishing her schooling at the university after the Olympics, then returning to China to become a businesswoman.
