PHOENIX, Arizona, February 10. THIS past week, business picked up for SwimmingWorldMagazine.com as NCAA conference championship season commenced and swimmers from around the world checked in with news from all over the place.<\/p>\n

Senior writer John Lohn posted his assorted thoughts on several news pieces from around the world, including Rhi Jeffrey's decision to leave school to focus on Olympic Trials getting some major heat on message boards throughout the country. Meanwhile, assistant newsmaster Erin Greene recapped an ultra-fast Stanford\/California women's meet from last weekend. <\/p>\n

In a non-premium commentary piece, publisher and CEO Brent Rutemiller took Rutgers to task for cutting its best academic teams on campus. In the same arena, the New Jersey Legislature made its way into the Rutgers fight with a resolution calling for Rutgers to reinstate all six cut sports.<\/p>\n

Rutemiller kept up his busy week with a pair of enlightening interviews with Swimming World Magazine's<\/i> College Swimmers of the Week Elaine Breeden of Stanford and Matt Stewart of Gustavus Adolphus.<\/p>\n

In the "A Day in the Life" series, Australian sophomore Matt Lenton of Indiana University began his pre-Big Ten Championship journal entries. For those asking, he is no relation to Libby, and has been on record stating that he just wants to make his own name in the sport.<\/p>\n

In another exciting piece on the site, Maddy Crippen, Tara Kirk and Staciana Winfield took part in a USOC Athletes Advisory Council candidate interview.<\/p>\n
