Jimmy Feigen made his first splash this year\u2019s Bill Nixon Memorial Pro-Am on day three. The former Texas standout entered the evening as one of the favorites in the 100-meter free and the early leg of the 50 Free Shootout.<\/p>\n
Feigen blazed a respectable 49.67 to win the men\u2019s 100-meter free. Feigen was untouchable on the first 50, splitting a 23.23. Brett Ringgold placed second with a 50.67, while Michael Thibert swam to third in 53.30.<\/p>\n
Ringgold currently holds the top spot over Feigen in the men\u2019s 50 Free Shootout. The Shootout features a round-by-round elimination style format, leaving the top eight swimmers to face off on Sunday night. The winner is awarded a lucrative cash prize. Ringgold\u2019s 23.17 is only a hair faster than Feigen\u2019s 23.34. After tonight, Jacob DeMercurio is now seeded third with a 24.49. Feigen entered the meet with an entry time of 21.77 and is considered the favorite in the Shootout.<\/p>\n
Amanda Kendall is now positioned first in the women\u2019s 50 Free Shootout. Her 25.52 stands alone ahead of Liliana Iba\u00f1ez Lopez and Lauren Pitzer, who each swam a 26.00.<\/p>\n
Kendall also held on to her top seed in the women\u2019s 100-meter fly with a 1:00.61 at finals. She defeated Mexican Olympian Iba\u00f1ez Lopez, who finished second in 1:01.18. Pitzer was a distant third with a 1:04.12.<\/p>\n
Carla Gonzalez finished first in the women\u2019s 200-meter back in 2:22.40. She moved up two spots from prelims to take the event ahead of Madison Straight (2:22.75) and Sydney Zupan (2:23.94).<\/p>\n
William Crowe of the Dallas Mustangs won the men\u2019s 200-meter back despite adding three seconds from his personal best. He finished ahead of last night\u2019s 200-meter IM winner Brendan Feehery, who swam a 2:08.53. Duncan Lee wound up third in 2:09.49.<\/p>\n
SMU alum Nina Rangelova hit the wall first among a tight top three in the women\u2019s 100-meter free. Her 55.57 was just enough to beat National Team member Megan Romano\u2019s 55.65. Amanda Kendall rounded out the top three in 55.84.<\/p>\n
Tyler Rauth took the men\u2019s 100-meter fly with a personal best of 55.22. He continues to near the Olympic Trial qualifying time of 54.79. Brett Ringgold, again, finished second in 56.22. David Morejon ended up third in 58.03.<\/p>\n
A duo of 15-year olds topped the women\u2019s 200-meter breast. Emma Garfield (2:45.05) of host team Lakeside Aquatic Club edged Jennifer Roessler (2:46.59) for the win. Lauren Halliburton took third with a 2:46.34.<\/p>\n
South Carolina recruit Phillip Willett won the men\u2019s 200-meter breast with a 2:27.20. Evan Kolde, who was virtually even with Willett after the first 100 meters, trailed to second in 2:28.98. Darren Loh finished third in 2:31.65.<\/p>\n
