Pellegrini settled for fourth in 54.42.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s Sjostrom&#8217;s third title of the meet as she doubled up with the amazing 100 fly and 50 free swims yesterday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cameron van der Burgh<\/strong> shot to second in the world in the men&#8217;s 50-meter breast with a time of 27.01. That&#8217;s better than his 27.17 from the Eindhoven Swim Cup, and put him behind only <strong>Adam Peaty&#8217;s<\/strong> 26.88 from the British University Championships.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nicolo Ossola<\/strong> took second in 27.51 with <strong>Andrea Toniato<\/strong> placing third in 27.56.<\/p>\n<p>USA&#8217;s <strong>Cammile Adams<\/strong> uncorked a season best to win the women&#8217;s 200-meter fly in a close battle with Hungary&#8217;s <strong>Zsuzsanna Jakabos<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Adams clocked a 2:07.52 to down Jakabos&#8217; 2:07.93. \u00a0That swim lowered her sixth-ranked season best of 2:07.61 from the BHP Super Series, while Jakabos jumped to ninth in the world with her swim. <strong>Liliana Szilagyi<\/strong> hit the wall third tonight in 2:08.86.<\/p>\n<p>Hungary&#8217;s <strong>Bence Biczo<\/strong> turned in a top time of 1:56.47 for the win in the men&#8217;s 200-meter fly. \u00a0Italy&#8217;s <strong>Francesco Pavone<\/strong> placed second in 1:57.92 with Sweden&#8217;s <strong>Simon Sjodin<\/strong> earning third in 1:58.16.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Elena Gemo<\/strong> pocketed the women&#8217;s 100-meter back crown in 1:00.22 with Scotland&#8217;s <strong>Kathleen Dawson<\/strong> placing second in 1:00.93. \u00a0Italy&#8217;s <strong>Carlotta Zofkova<\/strong> wound up third in 1:01.01.<\/p>\n<p>Italy&#8217;s <strong>Simone Sabbioni<\/strong> put up a time of 54.15 to win the men&#8217;s 100-meter back. \u00a0<strong>Christopher Ciccarese<\/strong> finished second in 54.51 with <strong>Luca Mencarini<\/strong> claiming third in 54.71.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stefania Pirozzi<\/strong> claimed the women&#8217;s 400-meter IM title in 4:40.00. \u00a0Jakabos picked up her second silver of the night with a 4:41.46, while Slovenia&#8217;s <strong>Anja Klinar<\/strong> rounded out the top three in 4:42.72.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Federico Turrini<\/strong> turned in a 4:19.07 to win the men&#8217;s 400-meter IM. \u00a0<strong>Giorgio Gaetani<\/strong> placed second in 4:20.18 with Scotland&#8217;s <strong>Lewis Smith<\/strong> taking third in 4:22.26.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sebastiaan Verschuren<\/strong> took home the men&#8217;s 200-meter free crown in 1:47.88. \u00a0That swim is more than a second back of his sixth-ranked 1:46.07 from the Eindhoven Swim Cup.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Damiano Lestingi<\/strong> finished second in 1:48.44 with <strong>Danas Rapsys<\/strong> hitting the wall third in 1:48.51.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ruta Meilutyte<\/strong>, the world leader with a 29.88 from the Canet stop, claimed the 50-meter breast title in 30.07.
