MELBOURNE, Australia, February 2. SOUTH Korea's Tae Hwan Park will leave for Melbourne on Feb. 12 and begin training under Aussie coach Wayne Lawes. The move is designed to prepare Park as best as possible to make a run at the podium at the World Championships late next month. Park is the Asian record-holder in the 200, 400 and 1,500 freestyles.<\/p>\n
Park, who recently signed an endorsement deal with Speedo, is currently training in Guam and will make the move to Melbourne on Feb. 12. A 51-year-old, Lawes is the head coach of the Haileybury Waterlions and has extensive international coaching experience.
