Matt Hug paced his team with a pair of individual event titles in the 200 and 500 free events.<\/p>\n
400 medley relay<\/b>
\nMissouri-Rolla grabbed a dominating 15-2 lead with a 1-2 finish in the 400 medley relay. Kyle Kammer, David Calcara, Travis Stensby and Matt Hug clocked a first-place time of 3:30.66, while teammates Brian Howell, Bill Gaul, Matt Adams and David Sanchez-Turner posted a second-place 3:32.11. Truman State's team of Robert Fletcher, Adam Pruess, Alex Totura and Ryan Ferrell took third in 3:32.38.<\/p>\n
Kammer turned in the fastest back leg with a time of 52.84, while Gaul clocked a breaststroke leg of 58.51. Totura recorded the quickest butterfly split with a 51.49, while Hug closed the deal with an anchor leg of 46.91.<\/p>\n
1000 freestyle<\/b>
\nUMR stretched its lead to 27-9 after the distance relay. Andrew Trowbridge hit the wall in a B-cut time of 9:45.73, while Truman's Kyle Ruiz (9:56.30) and Andrew Berdine (10:01.15) placed second and third, respectively.<\/p>\n
200 freestyle<\/b>
\nA top-two sweep for UMR pushed the team to a 40-15 lead. Matt Hug touched the wall first in a B-cut time of 1:42.68, while teammate Andy Shelley took second in 1:47.75. TSU's Alex Totura rounded out the podium in 1:49.08.<\/p>\n
50 freestyle<\/b>
\nMissouri-Rolla extended its advantage to 53-21 after the splash-and-dash. Chris Scheuber came just .03 seconds short of a B-cut time with a first-place effort of 21.54. Teammate Mark Chamberlain took second in 21.72. Truman's Jason Stokes and Tom Applegate tied for third with matching 21.82s.<\/p>\n
200 IM<\/b>
\nUMR went 1-2 again to grab a 68-25 lead. Matt Adams turned in a first-place time of 1:58.89, while Kyle Kammer took second in 2:00.31. TSU's Darren McDivitt scored third in 2:02.75.<\/p>\n
200 butterfly<\/b>
\nMissouri-Rolla kept on rolling with a top-two sweep for a 50-point lead, 81-31. Brian Howell won the race in 2:00.58, while teammate Dustin Spieker placed second in 2:00.75. Truman's Jon Strom registered a third-place time of 2:02.79.<\/p>\n
100 freestyle<\/b>
\nUMR took its seventh title in a row to snag a 94-37 advantage. Mark Chamberlain put his hand on the wall first in 47.88, while teammate Chris Scheuber took third in 49.15. TSU's Jason Stokes split the difference with a second-place time of 48.39.<\/p>\n
200 backstroke<\/b>
\nAnother top-two sweep gave UMR a 109-41 lead. Travis Stensby clocked a first-place 1:54.98, while Kyle Kammer took second in 1:55.73. Robert Fletcher rounded out the top three in 1:58.08 for Truman State.<\/p>\n
500 freestyle<\/b>
\nMissouri-Rolla stretched it to nine straight wins as Matt Hug doubled up with his second triumph in a B-cut time of 4:39.41. Teammate Andrew Trowbridge picked up second place in 4:50.53, while TSU's Kyle Ruiz took third in 4:56.25.<\/p>\n
200 breaststroke<\/b>
\nUMR's Matt Hammond touched first in an exhibition B-cut time of 2:09.34, while Truman's Kyle Ruiz drew a technical win in 2:16.82 with Missouri-Rolla electing to exhibition the rest of the meet. At the end of the event, UMR held a 124-61 lead.<\/p>\n
400 freestyle relay<\/b>
\nThe team of Matt Adams, Chris Scheuber, David Sanchez-Turner and Mark Chamberlain touched first for UMR in 3:11.21, while Alex Totura, Robert Fletcher, Jason Stokes and Andrew McCall posted a technical win in 3:11.93.<\/p>\n
