For more information about Agon, visit their website\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.agonswim.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Agonswim.com<\/a>.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>COLORADO SPRINGS &#8211; Three months after winning the girls&#8217; 5A title, the Fossil Ridge High School boys made it a sweep of the Colorado state swimming and diving titles, knocking off four-time defending champion Regis Jesuit on Saturday night at the Air Force Academy&#8217;s Cadet Natatorium in Colorado Springs.<\/p>\n<p>Fossil Ridge scored 297 points to take down Regis Jesuit, who finished second for just the second time since 1992 with 274 points. Cherry Creek took third with 209 points, ahead of Boulder (177 points) and Fairview (149 points).<\/p>\n<p>Boulder kicked off the meet with a victory in the 200 medley relay, as the foursome of Chris Nicholson, Mick Bartholomew, PJ Stapleton and Christian Feiler held off Regis&#8217; Ty Coen, Quinlan Stuart, Elijah Warren and Christopher Morales for the school&#8217;s first state title, 1:33.19 to 1:33.50. Highlands Ranch took third, with Frank Ruppel, Peyton Scherschel, Gabriele Sasia and Darren Woon touching in 1:34.46.<\/p>\n<p>Cherry Creek senior Samuel Coffman even-split the 200 free, 49.50\/49.69, and pulled away from the field en route to the state title in 1:39.19. Arapahoe&#8217;s Griffin Eiber held onto his second place seed with a 1:41.09, while Fossil Ridge&#8217;s Walter Dauksher got to the wall third in 1:41.41.<\/p>\n<p>In the 200 IM final, Pomona&#8217;s Keegan Foulke pulled away on the breaststroke leg and never looked back, touching the wall first in 1:50.13. Fairview sophomore Michael Zarian hit the wall second in 1:51.90, while Regis&#8217; Quinlan Stuart tracked down third in 1:53.08.<\/p>\n<p>Christian Feiler became Boulder&#8217;s first individual state swimming champion after dominating the 50 free with a 20.67, more than four tenths in front of Regis&#8217; William Pieseski (21.09). Ponderosa&#8217;s Max Grogan gave his team a third place finish with a 21.27.<\/p>\n<p>Regis senior Kyle Goodwin became only the third diver in Colorado high school history to sweep the 1-meter diving title four years in a row, breaking the 10-year-old state record set by Arapahoe&#8217;s Aaron Feight in the process with 611.85 points. Smoky Hill&#8217;s Devin Bellamy solidified second with 583.55 points, while Arapahoe&#8217;s Aaron LeBlang recorded 562.85 points to finish third.<\/p>\n<p>Highlands Ranch&#8217;s Gabriele Sasia picked up his first individual state title in the 100 fly final, cruising to the only sub-50 swim of the final at 49.16. Boulder&#8217;s Chris Nicholson swam a personal best and school record time of 50.52 to finish second, while Fossil Ridge&#8217;s Mason Fine grabbed third in 51.16.<\/p>\n<p>Cherry Creek&#8217;s Samuel Coffman earned his second state title of the day in the 100 free final, edging Boulder&#8217;s Christian Feiler for the win, 45.24 to 45.68. Arapahoe&#8217;s Griffin Eiber garnered another top three finish with a 46.26 for third.<\/p>\n<p>Fairview&#8217;s Michael Zarian swam away with his first individual state title in the 500 free, pulling away from Lakewood&#8217;s Aaron Sett on the final 50 for the win, 4:36.98 to 4:38.62. Fossil Ridge&#8217;s Walter Dauksher finished in the top three for a second time, taking third in 4:42.81.<\/p>\n<p>In arguably the most exciting finish of the entire meet, five teams hit the wall within .15 of each other in the 200 free relay final. After leading at the final exchange, Fossil Ridge&#8217;s Mason Fine, Matt Willis, Danny Kovac and Walter Dauksher barely held on for the win, out-touching Cherry Creek&#8217;s JJ Strain, John Cremer, Hunter Fuqua and Samuel Coffman by just one one-hundredth, 1:25.52 to 1:25.53. Arapahoe had posted the third-best time at 1:25.62 but was disqualified, leaving Grandview&#8217;s Robin Kuebler, Daniel Schweitzberger, Alex Turner and James Boone in third at 1:25.66, just .01 in front of Regis (1:25.67).<\/p>\n<p>Fossil Ridge freshman Danny Kovac had a quick turnaround from the 200 free relay to the 100 back, but it didn&#8217;t seem to affect him too much as he raced to his first individual state title in 50.53, just ahead of Highlands Ranch&#8217;s Gabriele Sasia (50.67) and Boulder&#8217;s Chris Nicholson (50.84), who each picked up another top three finish.<\/p>\n<p>Greeley West&#8217;s Brody Lewis caught and passed defending state champion Quinlan Stuart of Regis down the stretch of the 100 breast final, as Lewis stopped the clock at 56.60 to knock off Stuart (56.90). Rampart&#8217;s Andrew Weiss clocked a 56.97 to take third.<\/p>\n<p>Cherry Creek raced to a win in the final 400 free relay as JJ Strain, John Cremer, Hunter Fuqua and Samuel Coffman overtook Fossil Ridge&#8217;s Matt Willis, Carson Clear, Danny Kovac and Walter Dauksher for the win, 3:07.21 to 3:07.42.
