<\/p>\nUniversity of Arizona sophomore Roland Schoeman set a US Open record in the 100m free during prelims at the men's NCAA Swimming Championships, as foreign swimmers took the top three places.
\n\tSchoeman, a South African, went 47.89 to break American Jason Lezak's 1999 mark of 48.19. Another South African, Hawaii junior Nick Folker, tied with California senior Bart Kizierowski from Poland to qualify second in 48.08 – also under the old record.
\n Cal sophomore Matthew Macedo qualified fourth in 48.28, Auburn junior Greg Busse was fifth in 48.33, and Texas junior Jamie Rauch qualified sixth in 48.44. California freshman Anthony Ervin, who set a world record in the 50, qualified seventh in 48.51 and Stanford junior Anthony Robinson was eighth in 48.70.
\n Nebraska senior Adam Pine, the 100 fly champion, qualified ninth in 48.73. The other consolation finalists are Brian Malich, Ohio State; Bryan Jones, Texas; Nathan Summers, Florida; Chris Kemp, Texas; Coley Stickels, Arizona; John Stratman, Georgia; and Jay Schryver, Arizona.<\/p>\n
