{"id":133581,"date":"2015-05-08T09:49:56","date_gmt":"2015-05-08T16:49:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=133581"},"modified":"2015-05-08T09:49:56","modified_gmt":"2015-05-08T16:49:56","slug":"ba-zhen-sun-yangs-banned-doctor-has-suspension-extended-after-violation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ba-zhen-sun-yangs-banned-doctor-has-suspension-extended-after-violation\/","title":{"rendered":"Ba Zhen, Sun Yang&#8217;s Banned Doctor, Has Suspension Extended After Violation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ba Zhen, Sun Yang&#8217;s banned doctor, has had his suspension extended after news broke that he had violated his initial ban by appearing at the 2014 Asian Games in support of Sun.<\/p>\n<p>Ba, initially suspended from May 17, 2014 to May 16, 2015, for his role in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/sun-yang-world-record-holder-stripped-of-1500-free-title-for-doping\/\" target=\"_blank\">anti-doping violation of Olympic gold medalist Sun Yang<\/a>, violated his ban by &#8220;travelling on a private basis to the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon&#8221; and &#8220;by helping to rehabilitate his athlete during that competition.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>FINA stated in a release today that this was done &#8220;without the previous knowledge or consent from the Chinese National Swimming Team officials&#8221; and was in violation of\u00a0DC Rule 10.10 (status during ineligibility).<\/p>\n<p>FINA has now changed Ba&#8217;s ban to Sept. 28, 2014 to Sept. 27, 2015.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/chinese-doctor-ba-zhen-banned-for-doping-continues-unpunished-by-fina\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Swimming World<\/em> first posted about the violation in March<\/a>.
