IN the upcoming days, SwimmingWorldMagazine.com will put the bright lights on a trio of collegiate meets as part of the Meet of the Week program.  At the Division II level, we will feature No. 12\/17 Indianapolis heading to No. 5\/7 Grand Valley State in Allendale, Mich., on Jan. 20.<\/p>\n<p>We will also spotlight the Ohio State at No. 15 Penn State women&#39;s meet in Division I, and the Division III match-up between Hartwick and St. Lawrence.<\/p>\n<p>Next week, we will feature:<br \/>\nJan. 26, 2007, Missouri-Rolla at Truman State<br \/>\nJan. 27, 2007, Maryland at North Carolina<br \/>\nJan. 27, 2007, UW-Stevens Point at UW-La Crosse<\/p>\n<p>Here is a quick preview of the Indianapolis\/Grand Valley State match-up:<\/p>\n<p><b>Date and Time:<\/b> Saturday, January 20, 2007 \u2013 1 p.m.<br \/>\n<b>Location:<\/b> Allendale, Mich.<br \/>\n<b>Facility:<\/b> Fieldhouse and Recreation Center<br \/>\n<b>Collegeswimming.com Rankings:<\/b><br \/>\nMen:<br \/>\nIndianapolis: 12<br \/>\nGrand Valley State: 5<\/p>\n<p>Women:<br \/>\nIndianapolis: 17<br \/>\nGrand Valley State: 7<\/p>\n<p><b>Indianapolis&#39; Last Time Out:<\/b><br \/>\nTruman State University earned wins in 20 of the 22 events on Jan. 12-13 to propel the Bulldogs to dual wins over the University of Indianapolis men&#39;s and women&#39;s swimming teams at Ruth Lilly Center pool in Indianapolis.  Alison Smith and Jeremy Lindauer were winners on Saturday.  Smith recorded an NCAA B standard in her 200 free win (1:54.77).  Smith also finished third in the 200 back to earn another B-cut time (2:09.06).  Isabela Tafur also added a B-cut in the 50 free with a 24.58 clocking, good for second place.<\/p>\n<p>On the first day of action, Ellie Miller etched an NCAA B-cut in her 17:49.63 in the 1650 freestyle.  Alison Smith followed with a B-cut of her own in winning the 200 freestyle (1:55.57).  A third straight B-cut came for Indy when Holly Spohr clocked a 24.57 in the 50 freestyle, marking the third individual win for the Greyhounds.<\/p>\n<p><b>Looking forward with Indianapolis&#39; head coach Gary Kinkead:<\/b><br \/>\n<i>It should be a very good competition.  We are both coming off of our Christmas training and are probably still a bit tired from that.  They are a solid team with their diving, so we will already have a deficit of 26-0 (they have 2 female divers, us none) before we even get on the bus.  On the men&#39;s side, they have a diver who has already qualified for Nationals and two others who are solid.  We have one guy and he is coming along.  Again, it will be a very good, competitive, interesting meet.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>Grand Valley State&#39;s Last Time Out:<\/b><br \/>\nThe men&#39;s swimming and diving team provided a strong effort against Wayne State on Jan. 12, but fell 156-89.  Meanwhile, the women were tripped up by Wayne State, 146-97.<\/p>\n<p>The men demonstrated outstanding performances in the diving portion of the event, as freshman Evan Betts won the 3-meter tallying 252.97 points. The men&#39;s relay teams added to the Lakers effort with a first-place finish of the 400-yard medley relay team of Ryan Whitsitt, Hans Hill, Kyle Barrons and Justin Barkel. <\/p>\n<p>As for the women, Raelyn Prelewitz swept the diving portion of the meet, winning the 1 meter (218.17 points) and 3-meter (238.27). Jenna Thayer won 100-yard butterfly finishing in 59.79. Alison VanKampen won the 100-yard breaststroke with a final time of 1:09.84.<\/p>\n<p><b>Looking forward with Grand Valley State&#39;s head coach Dewey Newsome:<\/b><br \/>\n<i>The dual meet with the University of Indianapolis will be a great meet between two outstanding GLIAC programs.
