{"id":133076,"date":"2015-05-01T08:39:22","date_gmt":"2015-05-01T15:39:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=133076"},"modified":"2015-05-01T08:39:22","modified_gmt":"2015-05-01T15:39:22","slug":"tyler-clary-gives-200-im-worlds-spot-to-conor-dwyer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/tyler-clary-gives-200-im-worlds-spot-to-conor-dwyer\/","title":{"rendered":"Tyler Clary Gives 200 IM Worlds Spot to Conor Dwyer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Olympic gold medalist\u00a0Tyler Clary has surrendered his 200 IM slot at this summer&#8217;s World Championships in Kazan, Russia to USA teammate Conor Dwyer.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I have a tough schedule in Kazan, and keeping that in mind, it is in the best interest of the team for Conor to replace me,&#8221; Clary said on Friday morning, just after confirming the hand-off\u00a0with USA Swimming National Team Director Frank Busch.<\/p>\n<p>Clary is slated to swim\u00a0the 200 back, 200 fly and 400 IM at World Championships. The 200 IM will be Dwyer&#8217;s third event at Worlds, added to his lineup of the \u00a0200 free and 400 free relay.<\/p>\n<p>This is the latest in a lot of Team USA shuffling prior to the World Championships in Kazan. Yesterday, <a title=\"Michael Klueh Replaces Matt McLean on Team USA Worlds Roster\" href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/michael-klueh-replaces-matt-mclean-on-team-usa-worlds-roster\/\" target=\"_blank\">Matt McLean had to withdraw from the meet due to a shoulder injury<\/a>. \u00a0That drew Michael Klueh onto the roster in the 800-meter free relay.<\/p>\n<p>That led to even more changes as the dominos of that move trickled down to the rest of the squad and <a title=\"Eugene Godsoe, Ryan Feeley Added to Pan American Games Roster\" href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/eugene-godsoe-ryan-feeley-added-to-pan-american-games-roster\/\" target=\"_blank\">also impacted the World University Games team<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The world is still waiting to see if Michael Phelps will accept a special dispensation from FINA, <a title=\"FINA Says Adding Michael Phelps to Worlds Would Be No Problem\" href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/fina-says-adding-michael-phelps-to-worlds-would-be-no-problem\/\" target=\"_blank\">as
