Courier Mail<\/a>, Brown left Seebohm with just a few months left before the 2015 World Championships, and just more than a year out from the ever-important 2016 Rio Olympics.<\/p>\nSeebohm is currently seeking help from Swimming Australia’s Jacco Verhaeren to find a training team in Brisbane to continue her training.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter 12 and a half years it\u2019s not easy to walk away but I had no alternative,\u201d Brown told the Courier Mail. \u201cEmily is still improving, she hasn\u2019t really had a year that she hasn\u2019t improved in the time we worked together.\u00a0She is a good kid, it would\u2019ve been great to be able to finish with her in Rio \u2026 but look life is what it is and you have to do what is best.\u201d<\/p>\n
Last summer during the 2014 Pan Pacific Championships, Brown learned that he was being fired from the national podium centre he helped build for Swimming Australia. \u00a0The following months featured Brown and his swimmers training in various locations throughout Brisbane before Brown decided he needed to find stability and found a job back in Melbourne.<\/p>\n
\u201cI just couldn\u2019t have survived. I hadn\u2019t been paid from August. I had my payout (from Nudgee) and was working a full-time job without the payment,\u201d Brown told the Courier Mail. \u201cSwimming Australia have been fantastic with lane hire and travel costs and things for Emily, myself and a couple of other kids as well \u2026 they actually came with a little bit of aid for me towards the end. I was given some support from them but not enough that I could live off.
