{"id":132743,"date":"2015-04-27T13:50:08","date_gmt":"2015-04-27T20:50:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=132743"},"modified":"2015-04-27T13:50:54","modified_gmt":"2015-04-27T20:50:54","slug":"fbi-offering-reward-for-whereabouts-of-fugitive-swim-coach-john-trites","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/fbi-offering-reward-for-whereabouts-of-fugitive-swim-coach-john-trites\/","title":{"rendered":"FBI Offering Reward for Whereabouts of Fugitive Swim Coach John Trites"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lorrie John Trites, who was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/lorrie-john-trites-joe-weber-added-to-usa-swimmings-banned-for-life-list\/\" target=\"_blank\">Banned for Life by USA Swimming in 2013<\/a> and\u00a0is on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fbi.gov\/wanted\/additional\/lorrie-john-trites\" target=\"_blank\">FBI&#8217;s Most Wanted List<\/a>\u00a0as a fugitive swim coach, now has a price tag on his head as the FBI has offered an undisclosed financial reward &#8220;for information leading to the arrest of Lorrie John Trites.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Trites is on the FBI List\u00a0for \u201callegedly making video and voice recordings of several young women as they changed their clothing in the ladies locker room of the aquatic center.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trites was initially arrested and charged with six counts of violating the Pennsylvania Wiretapping and Electronic Surveillance Control Act on a warrant issued in March of 1998. Trites then fled, and has since been charged with \u201cunlawful flight to avoid prosecution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trites&#8217; case also appeared on the television show \u201cAmerica&#8217;s Most Wanted\u201d in 2008. Trites&#8217; ban from USA Swimming was effective February 25, 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Information still on file from the FBI regarding Trites and his potential whereabouts are as follows:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Trites has ties to New Mexico, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Florida, Canada, Trinidad, and the Bahamas. He may have facial hair. Trites is an avid swimmer and may be involved in some way with the swimming community.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"oembed-wrap\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Wanted by the FBI: Lorrie John Trites\"
