THE Georgia Tech men&#39;s team (1-4) defeated the FAU Owls, 179-106, while the women (2-5) dropped a 179-119 decision to FAU and defeated New Orleans 211-70 on Saturday at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center.<\/p>\n<p>Junior Jason Bourgeois won the men&#39;s 100-yard backstroke (51.18), 100 butterfly (50.66) and led off the 200 medley relay team which finished first (1:32.69) to give Georgia Tech the lead.  <\/p>\n<p>Junior diver Stephanie England swept the one- and three-meter springboard events with scores of 249.22 and 319.80 (NCAA Zone), respectively, to lead the women.<\/p>\n<p>Junior All-American diver Evan Stowers swept the men&#39;s one- and three-meter springboard events, with NCAA Zone diving qualifying marks of 335.32 and 395.25, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Freshman Ryan Crete clocked a season-best time of 1:43.22 in the men&#39;s 200 free to touch the wall in first place and finished first in the 500 free with a time of 4:35.96.<\/p>\n<p>Senior Ryan Bishop posted a pair of first-place finishes for the Yellow Jackets. Bishop clocked a time of 3:58.40 in the men&#39;s 400 individual medley and posted a season-best time of 56.76 in the 100 breaststroke.<\/p>\n<p>Sophomores Mauricio Sousa and Noah Copeland tallied first-place finishes for the Yellow Jackets. Sousa clocked a time of 20.84 in the 50 freestyle, while Copeland posted a time of 46.32 in the 100 free. <\/p>\n<p>The women&#39;s 200 medley relay team of Caroline Jones, Alison Walker, Megan Campbell and Agatha Kwasnik finished first with a time of 1:48.62.<\/p>\n<p>Junior Rob Miller clocked a season-best time of 9:33.33 in the men&#39;s 1000 free to finish in first place for the Jackets. Senior co-captain Alex Williams swam a time of 2:09.85 in the men&#39;s 200 breast to finish in first place for Tech.<\/p>\n<p>Junior Elizabeth Stowe tallied a pair of runner-up finishes for the Rambling Wreck. Stowe posted times of 4:49.82 (500 free) and a season-best time of 10:06.60 (1000 free) for Tech.<\/p>\n<p>Walker just missed tallying a NCAA `B&#39; standard in the women&#39;s 100 breast (1:03.55) with a season-best mark of 1:03.78. The senior co-captain also finished runner-up in the 200 breast with a time of 2:24.14 for the Yellow Jackets.<\/p>\n<p>In a diving meet versus Florida State on Jan. 3, Georgia Tech defeated the Seminoles, 10-9 on the men&#39;s side, and 13-6 on the women&#39;s side. England and Stowers swept the boards for the Jackets against the `Noles, who typically are the best diving team in the Atlantic Coast Conference.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ATLANTA, Georgia, January 13.
