Amaury Leveaux made a splash this weekend when news leaked from his new expose book entitled “Sexe, drogue et natation: un nageur brise l’omerta.” \u00a0Translated to English, that means Sex, Drugs, and Swimming: A swimmer breaks the code of silence.<\/p>\n

The book, which comes out in two days, definitely had a bump in attention once an\u00a0AFP<\/a>\u00a0article began detailing some of the claims found within the text.<\/p>\n

Leveaux alleges that most of the French swimming team was fueled by cocaine and sexual decadence, with many of the top swimmers have enormous egos.<\/p>\n

Leveaux writes that not only was cocaine used as a party drug, it was also used for its “euphoric” properties as a “doping product.”<\/p>\n

He also makes claims about a young, 22-year-old, French swimmer snorting cocaine off the breasts of a press officer at a party during the 2012 London Olympics.<\/p>\n

The sex part of the Olympic claims are backed by comments from American Olympian gold medalist goalkeeper Hope Solo, who explained in 2012 that sex is pretty regular among competitors<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“There’s a lot of sex going on,” says Solo, who competed in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. “With a once-in-a-lifetime experience, you want to build memories, whether it’s sexual, partying or on the field. I’ve seen people having sex right out in the open. On the grass, between buildings, people are getting down and dirty.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The drug usage, however, has not been in the public eye as much.<\/p>\n

Leveaux also takes shots at the French Swimming Federation saying that its leaders are “dinosaurs” who are only playing the system to enjoy fine restaurants and great wine.<\/p>\n

Leveaux, who retired in 2013, still holds the short course world record in the men’s 100-meter free with a 44.94 from Rijeka, Croatia in 2008.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
