EMILY Hunter of Georgia won the women&#39;s platform competition on Friday to cap the Georgia Diving Invitational And Shootout at Gabrielsen Natatorium.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter, a senior from Cincinnati, had a final score of 247.90 to edge Auburn&#39;s Emily Griesemer (242.35). Hunter was Georgia&#39;s lone competitor in Friday&#39;s meet.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;(The platform) is her best event, and that&#39;s probably her best list at this time of the year,&quot; Georgia diving coach Dan Laak said. &quot;I&#39;m real happy with it. It&#39;s especially great since it&#39;s three weeks until the conference meet.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Hunter performed all of her dives from the 10-meter perch, although divers may also use the 5- and 7-meter platforms.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;I&#39;m comfortable up there,&quot; Hunter said. &quot;I got on the 10-meter when I was 10 years old, so I&#39;ve been at that level the longest. Once I got past my second dive, which is the most nerve-racking of my list, I felt really good.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>In the men&#39;s competition, Auburn&#39;s Steve Segerlin won with a score of 357.45. Segerlin, the 2006 NCAA champion on platform, joins Georgia&#39;s Chris Colwill as the only men to win the 1-meter, 3-meter and platform dives in the 11-year history of the Georgia Invitational.
