On the final morning of the 2015 Hancock Prospecting Australian Swimming Championships, Commonwealth Games and Pan Pacific Championship representative Travis Mahoney clocked the fastest time for the men\u2019s 400m individual medley final and will get the chance to swim for selection at Sydney Olympic Park tonight.<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old from Nunawading swam 4:20.76, ahead of Tomas Elliott (4:22.88) and Kazimir Boskovic (4:23.15). Thomas Fraser-Holmes posted a solid time of 4:23.49 to be the fifth fastest qualifier for tonight\u2019s final. The defending champion swam a reserved heat and plans to head into tonight\u2019s final with a clear goal of getting under the qualifying time, whilst also enjoying the experience.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was ok, it was nice and solid and I\u2019ll hopefully get that qualifying time tonight,\u201d Fraser-Holmes said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe 400 IM is always hard, especially with a day off yesterday. Although I think I needed that to get myself back into gear again and really go from there for tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the corresponding women\u2019s event, 2014 Commonwealth Games and Pan Pacs bronze medallist Keryn McMaster posted the fastest heats time in the women\u2019s 400m individual medley. The 21-year-old swam 4:44.99 two seconds clear of her nearest competitor Ellen Fullerton (4:46.71). Breaststroker Tessa Wallace also posted a strong heat time of 4:46.85 to progress.<\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 50m Breaststroke Multi Class<\/strong><\/p>\n

Matthew Levy (SB7) set a provisional world record in the men\u2019s 50m breaststroke Multi Class heats, swimming 36.03 seconds to score 1008 points. The 28-year-old from Cranebrook qualified in first place for the finals ahead of defending champion Blake Cochrane (SB7) who swam 37.43 and Richard Eliason (SB14) who swam 32.01.<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 50m Breaststroke Multi Class<\/strong><\/p>\n

The three highest qualifiers for this evening\u2019s final of the women\u2019s 50m breaststroke Multi Class are all rising stars of the sport. Thirteen-year-old Tiffany Thomas Kane (SB6) goes in as the highest qualifier having swum 48.57 to earn 790 points. Jenna Jones (SB13), 14, was the second highest qualifier in 39.94 with Paige Leonhardt (SB9), 14, third in 40.33.<\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 100m Butterfly Multi Class<\/strong><\/p>\n

Twenty-eight-year-old Timothy Antalfy (S13) has qualified in top spot for the final of the men\u2019s 100m butterfly multi class. The Hunters Hill swimmer touched in 56.76 (906 points) qualifying ahead of Mitchell Kilduff (S14) in 1:01.09 \u2013 883 points and Daniel Fox (S14) in 1:01.63 \u2013 860 points.<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 100m Butterfly Multi Class<\/strong><\/p>\n

Madeleine Scott (S9) has qualified in first position for the finals of the women\u2019s 100m butterfly multi class. The West Australian 22-year-old swam 1:11.94 to earn 798 points. Prue Watt (S13) was the second highest qualifier with a time of 1:12.63 with 15-year-old Emily Beecroft (S9) third in 1:14.05.<\/p>\n
